Zika virus spreads to people primarily through the bite of an infected Aedes aegypti species mosquito. But it Zika can also be passed through sex from an infected to his or her sex partners and it can be spread from a pregnant woman to her fetus. Zika continues to spreading geographically to areas where competent vectors are present. Although a decline in cases of Zika virus infection has been reported in some countries, or in some parts of countries, vigilance needs to remain high. In this work, we propose a mathematical model that uses diffusion-advection equations to study the impact of the Zika epidemic. We present a numerical scheme linking finite elements (FEM) with finite differences to solve the model. The computer simulations are performed for Paramaribo and Santa Ana that have different demographic characteristics and allow us to extend the study to other regions.

The research paper presents a computational model by Cellular Automata (Cell-DEVS) applied to the transmission of Dengue disease, spread by mosquitoes to a susceptible population. This model will have a multilevel approach to consider exogenous interactions such as temperature. This will allow to be able to visualize the critical points where the mosquito reproduction is much greater, and thus carry out control strategies.

The present study proposes the use of a segmented SIR-D mathematical model to predict the evolution of epidemiological populations of interest in the COVID-19 pandemic (Susceptible [S], Infected [I], Recovered [R] and dead [D]), information that is often key to guiding decision-making in the fight against epidemics. In order to obtain a better model calibration and a lower prediction error in the short term, we performed the model segmentation in 6 stages of periods of 14 days each. At each stage, the epidemiological  that define the system of equations are empirically estimated by linear regression of the epidemiological surveillance data that the Peruvian Ministry of Health collects and reports daily. This strategy showed better model calibration compared to an unsegmented SIR-D model.

In the present paper, a computational model is performed by Cellular Automata (Cell-DEVS) that describes the transmission dynamics of Varicella in a closed group of people where the disease can be spread. From the perspective of mathematical epidemiology we have the mathematical model SEIR of W.O. Kermack and A.G. McKendrick that represent the dynamics of the epidemic, in our case Varicela, where the computational simulations are performed both by the Numerical Methods and the Cellular Automata to analyze the development of the disease.

In the present paper, the effect of interdependence and contagion will be performed in the purchase and sale decisions of investors in a Black-Schole financial market, where there are two financial assets: stocks (risky assets) and bonds (risk-free asset); and two investor states: lover and risk aversion; under different probabilities of contagion. This economic-financial phenomenon could be modeled by a system of stochastic equations; however, not all stochastic equations have a closed solution, so it is decided to perform computational simulations to analyze their numerical behavior. In this sense, a computational simulation will be performed using cellular automata.

In the present research article, a computational model is developed by means of cellular automatas (Cell-DEVS) that describes the transmission dynamics of HIV / AIDS in a closed group of heterosexual people who are sexually active. From the perspective of the mathematical epidemiology we have the mathematical model SI of W. O. Kermack and A. G. McKendrick that represents the dynamics of the sexually transmitted disease by means of the ordinary differential equations. Wherecomputational simulations will be carried out both by numerical methods and cellular automatas to analyze the evolution of the disease over time, and how the results obtained can be interpreted to generate adequate intervention activities as part of public politics.

The main objective is to transmit HD content enhanced with high image quality throughstreaming video. In recent years the technological advance, in what refers to the transmission of highresolution video with high resolution, is booming but showing a low quality of video ina series of frames per second using more bandwidth and at the same time less often.Thismeans greater loss of information per data sent, and giving priority to moving objects and3D images but forgetting the quality and fidelity of it. This need motivated me to developthis research to find an equitable and progressive solution to the low quality of video, butbased on the analysis of the standards that gave rise to the compression. As this study ledme to contribute or modify the mathematical algorithms within the compression standardsalready known as: MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264 and H.265, with an exhaustive researchusin...

Early mathematical competencies have a great impact on academic performance and on the development of more complex mathematical skills, especially in early education. Several authors have highlighted the importance of working memory and inhibition in the development of these mathematical skills; however, there is no agreement regarding the explanatory capacity of these executive domains with respect to differentiated performance in mathematics. The aim of this research was to evaluate the predictive capacity of verbal and visuospatial working memory and of behavioral and cognitive inhibition in mathematical competencies of relational logic and numerical type in 106 Chilean children of early education between 4 and 6 years old, who were evaluated with four executive tasks and an early mathematical assessment test. For data analysis, correlations and multiple linear regressions were perfor...

In this document we present the results of a research that aimed to enhance in the students' the development of dynamic thinking about the variational nature of mathematical knowledge. We presented situations involving changes and regular patterns in the quantities studied when passing from one state to another, and whose study required students to develop cognitive processes that explain, speculate, argue, share and model the meaning of the objects under analysis. We will present the case of the geometric condition of the ellipse for students in pre-calculus courses in an environment of dynamic geometry using GeoGebra as a mediator instrument. To demonstrate the use of different representations we use as a reference, the Semiotics Representation Register which analyzes the role of signs as representative records of mathematical objects.
