In 2020, the subject Science for Citizenship was included in the Chilean school curriculum in response to the global challenges to move towards scientific literacy to encourage citizens to participate in decision making for their personal lives or in their participation socially. The objective of the research was to understand the contributions of the subject Science for Citizenship to the Chilean school curriculum to advance toward scientific literacy.This article presents a descriptive analysis of the Chilean educational policy documents, based on the review of the purposes, approaches, modules, and learning objectives of the Science for Citizenship subject. The findings show that the curriculum promotes the acquisition, use, critical analysis, creation, and communication of information that addresses science and technology.

El sábado 13 de noviembre de 1999 se firmó en Lima el Acta de Ejecución del Tratado de 1929 con Chile. Con esta firma por fin concluyeron, ciento veinte años después, las consecuencias de la Guerra del Pacífico. En la víspera de la firma pudimos conversar con el Canciller peruano, doctor Fernando de Trazegnies Granda, sobre el contenido y la relevancia de dicho tratado internacional. Asimismo, áprovechamos para consultarle sobre nuestras relaciones con Ecuador y la integración regional y continental.

Introduction: Data envelopment analysis (DEA) helps determining which of the regional hospitals have better relative performance and which could improve the use of resources. Objectives: To analyze, using data envelopment analysis (DEA), hospitals technical efficiency in Chile. Design: Non parametric analysis. Setting: Chile’s Regional Public Hospitals. Interventions: Application of DEA to determine the efficiency of health establishments. Materials: Data for the period 1997-2006 of 190 public hospitals of different levels of expertise of the twelve regions of the country and the Metropolitan Region. The goal of this paper is to analyze remunerations by sex, to determine the gap and discrimination that exists in public entities as in the case of Customs of Chile. The structure of occupational estates and labor income is analyzed through the functional relationships of the Mincer equation. The results indicate that there are wage differences by sex in favor of men of the order of 42%, with professional and technical professionals presenting the greatest inequalities. In addition, married men have higher salaries than women for the same years of experience. These results contrast to the official publications in Chile for the public sector where the wage gap is 27.4%.

Este artículo analiza las políticas de desarrollo docente en contraste con las narrativas cotidianas de tres profesores en Chile que han debido sortear eventos críticos en su docencia. Se realizó un estudio narrativo con entrevistas en dos momentos (2017 y 2021). Los resultados muestran discordancia de ambas narrativas y la escasa pertinencia de la política para la profesionalización docente. Se discute la relación con las formas de contrahegemonía al neoliberalismo educativo y la distancia de las políticas educativas respecto de las dimensiones personales de la profesión docente.

The article analyzes the complex relationship between cultural selection of curriculum and the diverse nature of the societies in which it is inserted. From a qualitative approach, we analyze the teachers’ discourses of the Metropolitan Region about their representations on the political issues and the Politics and on the importance of curriculum and its possibilities for the attention to the diversity from the formation in citizenship. Results show the lack of problematization of diversity in this area. New contemporary phenomena such as valuing diversity require greater attention in the current processes of curriculum design for democratic coexistence.

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo analizar la falta de un marco normativo específico para regular la integración vertical en el sector privado de salud en Perú y sus implicaciones en la competencia, el acceso a servicios de salud y la protección de los derechos fundamentales de los usuarios. La hipótesis planteada sostiene que la ausencia de regulación adecuada facilita la concentración empresarial, el abuso de posición de dominio y el acceso inequitativo a los servicios de salud, afectando negativamente la libre competencia y los derechos de los ciudadanos. The objective of this article was to analyze the natural environment of the pastures of El Rincón, in the province of Limarí, where a community of wild birds lives. The methodology used included field work with direct observation, application of recording sheets for the sighted individuals, creation of cartography with the ArcMap 10.1 program, taking photographs, and making illustrations of birds using Giotto pencils, block, charcoal pencil, eraser. common and moldable rubber. This study identifies and characterizes the support programs in the Chilean ecosystem. These programs are offered from both the public and private sectors for women entrepreneurship intentions, nascent and established entrepreneurs. We revise the programs and propose recommendations for a national policy for women’s entrepreneurship. A propósito del aumento de la matrícula de niñas y niños de origen extranjero en el sistema educativo chileno, es objetivo de este artículo analizar la relación entre las necesidades de formación docente en el ámbito de la interculturalidad y la violencia hacia la niñez migrante con miras hacia una educación antirracista. Se presentan resultados de un estudio realizado en dos regiones del país: Metropolitana y Valparaíso. A través de una metodología cualitativa, se aplicaron entrevistas semiestructuradas a docentes y profesionales que atienden a población escolar migrante. Objectives: To analyze the theoretical foundations of implemented cost restraint instruments, payment associated to diagnosis (PAD), and payment for valued assistance (PFV) during the last two decades and their effectiveness on the Chilean sanitary system.
