El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar la decisión tomada por la Dirección de Metrología del Instituto Nacional de Calidad para resolver la problemática de no poder atender las solicitudes de certificación de aprobación de modelo (prototipo) de instrumentos de medición con nueva tecnología requerido por los comercializadores de instrumentos de medición ante la necesidad de cumplir con disposiciones legales establecidas asociadas al control metrológico de instrumentos para la protección al consumidor. Since the 1990s, several countries in Latin America liberalized and privatized the public utilities business. As a consequence, there was a transit from the Entrepreneur State to the Regulatory State, the latter being traditionally understood as a model of regulation for competition, with a mayor concern only on economic objectives. Notwithstanding, the socioeconomic reality of Latin American countries, in particular Colombia, presented the fact that competition cannot be the only priority, and that regulation of the public utilities business must also achieve social objectives. Public purposes, understood as economic and social objectives, are the cornerstone of State intervention.

In Peru, according to data from the Demographic and Family Health Survey (ENDES), between 1995 and 2007, the prevalence of chronic malnutrition (DCI) remained almost invariant at around 28%. From 2008 to 2014, the DCI indicator fell more than 14 points from the national average, with a greater reduction in children from the poorest quintiles. This fact made the fight against the DCI in Peru one of the most successful cases of social policy in the world. Behind all this, there was a set of innovations in financial and budgetary policy and management that led to the timely delivery of effective services to attack this problem. In this regard, it is argued that traditional media have had to adapt to the new reality to survive in the new media environment where they compete with news portals. This proliferation of media has allowed citizens to have more options to choose the news of their choice. Under the assumption that voters' preferences for related media affect the editorial lines of the media, the article investigates what type of media, traditional or digital, is more likely to satisfy the demands of readers. Developmental policies, or development projects in general, have consistently failed to achieve their stated objectives by being based on a «construction» of the country/community/space that bears little relation to local culture. While development projects fail, the government succeeds in expanding the field of bureaucratic state power in the space that needs to be «developed». Seen from a notion of governmentality, socially legitimated authorities interfere in spaces isolated from the actual development by focusing on adjudicating the vices or virtues of developmental policies and their risks or lack thereof. Environmental governance is a crucial field in natural resource management and environmental protection. In this context, research was conducted focusing on environmental governance with a specific emphasis on San Pedro Garza García, to address how environmental policies are developed and the impact of governance on their evolution and implementation. This municipality in Nuevo León, Mexico, is known primarily for its economy but has recently focused on environmental initiatives. The research methodology involved text analysis to understand and evaluate public policies, legal documents, reports, and other written resources. The main findings were that it has made significant legislative advances, but there remains a substantial gap regarding the development and dissemination of information, as well as the monitoring of environmental programs.

The purpose of this article is to present the current status of working conditions for maids in 3- and 4-star hotels in Merlo, San Luis, in 2022, based on research conducted. It examined aspects related to labour legislation, work experience, work organisation, and occupational health through surveys of maids using both closed and openended questions, to obtain statistically comparable information. The study also includes a comparison with the current evolution of working conditions. The analysis highlighted the need to address the conditions under which this employment is carried out, which significantly impact the workers’ lives.

This case report highlights the dental rehabilitation of a patient with controlled diabetes mellitus, emphasizing the importance of oral health in overall well-being. The treatment involved periodontal therapy, fixed and removable prostheses, and precision attachments to restore aesthetics and masticatory function. Significant improvements in oral health, function, and quality of life were achieved, along with stabilization of periodontal health after five months of follow-up. The case underscores the role of proper masticatory function in preventing malnutrition, especially in diabetic patients, where poorly controlled oral health can exacerbate systemic conditions. An interdisciplinary approach is critical in addressing both functional and aesthetic needs, improving both oral and systemic health outcomes for diabetic patients.
