With the social outbreak in Chile in October 2019, a series of demonstrations and citizen mobilizations of different sectors of society began, which promoted various requests for social claims and demands. It is from this event that, on November 12 of that year, a presidential speech was issued, through which three major agreements were proposed to overcome the crisis that was being experienced, and one of those agreements was the agreement for a new constitution. This promise gave rise to the formation of the Constitutional Convention, the body which, after a long and arduous period of work, has recently presented a new draft constitutional text, which will be accepted or rejected by means of a plebiscite to be held in September of this year. In this context, the purpose of the interview is to analyze and evaluate the most decisive aspects of the constitutional process.

Compost is a natural fertilizer that is obtained from the use of solid organic waste, limiting the environmental impact that it causes. The purpose of this investigation was to determine the influence of Mende and water in the pH stabilization, and the efficiency of the compost made from waste from green areas of the District of Tacna. A 3x3 multilevel factorial design was used. It was verified that a dose of 1.5 L of Mende and 33.5 L of water achieve a pH of 7.95 and a compost obtaining efficiency of 38.80 %. After laboratory analysis, it was determined that this compost managed to meet the internationally required parameters (temperature, organic matter, C/N ratio, humidity, total nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) in the EPA 40CFR 503, Mexico NTEA-006 – SMA-2006 and Chile Nch 2880 2004. The province of Yucatan has been often described as a Spanish empire’s periphery, not only because of its farness from the Courts (of Mexico and Spain), but also because of its conquest’s incompleteness, since extensive territories remained out of the colonial control for centuries. However, in the sixteenth century the Defensores (or advocates) of the Indians, as well as the Procuradores (or representatives) of the local Spanish towns maintained a close relationship with both the Mexican Court and the Council of the Indies. This article examines those actors’ travels, as well as the circulation of the documents they produced in order to determine the differential impact of those two factors on the production of imperial law. Special attention will be paid to the strategies aimed at interfering with the free circ...

During the 19th century, the extraction of guano and saltpeter caused the normal difficulties for human existence in the desert region of Tarapacá to increase to levels never imagined until then, especially in relation to the use of water resources. On the one hand, the need to supply drinking water to a population that was growing rapidly and, on the other, the use of a high volume of aquifers by industrial mining processes that produce sodium nitrate, implied assuming different initiatives to satisfy these requirements.

Social representations are a set of ideas, practices and ideals that are part of the common sense of a group. Generally, the study of older adults’representations is conducted by looking at the media, however, this research incorporates a key agent in the health/ disease /care processes: the Ministry of Health. The main objective of this article is to identify older adults’ representations found in the Chilean Ministry of Health (MINSAL) news portal website during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Using framing analysis, four types of frames were found: age sub-groups, terms for referring to older adults, risk group and social solidarity. These four framesshare some ageist qualities, that is, they have a biased view of older people, representing them as a homogeneous, dependent and without agency group, since other people speak for them.
