Pregnancy in a woman living with HIV continues to be an important health problem that involves not only the pregnant woman but also the product of pregnancy due to the high risk of transmitting the virus during pregnancy, the time of delivery and breastfeeding maternal. Despite the years the selected studies continue to report that the reduction of vertical transmission of HIV is achieved with the early diagnosis of the infection in the pregnant woman, reducing the maternal viral load using antiretroviral therapy in pregnancy and in timing of delivery, elective cesarean delivery, discontinuation of breastfeeding, and antiretroviral prophylaxis in the newborn.

Malaria susceptibility is increased during pregnancy. In semi-immune women, lifelong exposure to P. falciparum parasites has induced immunity that controls infection with common parasite phenotypes, such as parasites expressing PfEMP1 variants. that bind to CD36 on the endothelium of the peripheral vasculature. Introducción: Actualmente, la infección por VIH sigue siendo uno de los más grandes problemas en salud pública; a finales de 2016 había aproximadamente 36,7 millones de personas infectadas por el VIH en el mundo y de estos, 17,8 millones eran mujeres mayores de 15 años. Toxocariasis is a human infection caused by the larvae of the nematodes Toxocara canis (Werner, 1782) or Toxocara cati (Schrank, 1788), which are parasitic in animals, and represents a serious public health problem. The objective of this study was to investigate the information and prevalence of parasitic toxocariasis in the state of Sucre, Venezuela, particularly in the municipalities of Montes and Sucre, in communities considered vulnerable due to social and economic deficiencies within the epidemiological/sanitary monitoring. El objetivo de este trabajo fue determinar la prevalencia de Guardia sp. en la población canina doméstica en los 6 distritos que conforman la Provincia Constitucional del Callao en el Perú. Para tal fin se colectaron 385 muestras fecales de perros aparentemente normales de ambos sexos, de diferentes edades y de acuerdo a la zona en donde habitaban sus propietarios. Las muestras fueron procesadas mediante la técnica de sedimentación espontánea; encontrándose una prevalencia de 9,35 ± 2% de Guardia sp. During the COVID-19 pandemics there has been a substantial increase in the use of telemedicine and virtual platforms in the medical field. For this reason, we have in our institution a multicamera system that allows us live visualizing endovascular procedures. Eleven cases dealing with aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and chronic subdural hematomas were treated and broadcasted live with no technical problems using the Zoomâ platform. The average time for transmissions was 2.5 hours, and the average number of participants was 6 persons. The used technique and occurring complications were discussed for all cases. Remote learning using online platforms is nowadays a very important tool, but it is not a substitute for practical learning when performing endovascular procedures.
