Bullying is a contemporary social phenomenon that impacts multiple social structures and contexts. This study aimed to establish the association between executive functions (EF) and social cognition in adolescents. A cross-sectional descriptive study with a sample of 109 subjects was selected by convenience sampling. Multinomial logistic regression was performed, finding that social cognition is a protective factor (OR: 0.17 IC 95% 0.05-0.59) (OR: 0.27 IC 95% 0.08- 0.85) in the group of aggressors to controls; in addition, the group of victims to controls (OR: 0.15 IC 95% 0.05 – 0.42) (OR: 0.30 IC 95% (0.11- 0.82). Thus, adequate social cognition is associated as a protective factor against bullying, and presenting deficits in EF is associated with a threefold increased risk of bullying.

Using Semigroups Theory, we prove the existence of global solution to the viscoelastic bean equation with memory, this bean is having one side fixed and the other one is provided of a control ƒ. Also, using multiplication techniques, Lyapunov functional, dynamic systems and some results of Datko, Buck, we show that the energy associated to the system decays to zero when t → + ∞, that means we get the stability of the bean.

Intelligence is a construct of notable impact in our sociocultural context, related to a wide range of conceptual and operational definitions which originate positions that highlights cognitive and abstract elements and emotional and social skills, as well was perspectives that are focused on processes underlying the intelligent performance, such as in the case of executive functions (EFs), which are configured as cognitive processes that make it possible the self-regulation (Miyake & Friedman, 2012). Similarly, there are approaches that give intelligence a relevant and predictive role of school performance, an aspect strengthened by the psychometric perspective, where the concept of intelligence has been closely linked to learning. In this line, we also find the classical perspective of crystallized Intelligence of Cattell (1943), which refers to the knowledge acquired through educa...

The study of the complex ultracellular processes of nucleic acids is a subject debated as a scientific argument in favor of Intelligent Design (ID). The objective of this work was to analyze some molecular processes of the nucleic acids that suggest the confirmation of the ID theory, through the technique of documentary content analysis. First, the chemical structure of DNA and the combination of nitrogenous bases reflects that the genetic information of each created being is an original mixture of nitrogenous bases that makes each individual unique in the history of the world. Secondly, by studying the processes of DNA replication and repair, it is observed that each enzyme fulfills its function in a coordinated and organized manner avoiding the occurrence of errors and, should this occur, the cell has had very fine repair mechanisms. that correct these alterations in the best possible ...

The relationship between executive functions (EF), creative personality, and academic performance in Argentine university students was examined. A total of 248 students (M = 22.97 years, SD = 4.43) from various Argentine provinces participated. The Adult Executive Functioning Inventory (ADEXI), the Cognitive Flexibility Scale, the Creative Behavior Scale (ECC), and the Creative Personality Scale (EPC) were used, along with academic performance data and sociodemographic information. Data were collected online through Google Forms and analyzed using Spearman correlations and mediation analysis with robust Maximum Likelihood estimator and Bootstrap. Cognitive flexibility exhibited the most robust correlation with grade point average (r = .281, p < .001), followed by working memory difficulties (r = -.234, p < .001). Creative personality correlated positively with grade point average (...

In Mexico, a high percentage of young people experience symptoms of generalized anxiety, which are associated with difficulties in executive functions (EF). However, previous studies have shown inconsistent results, as they often rely solely on either objective or subjective measures. Therefore, this study focused on analyzing the relationship between generalized anxiety and EF using both a neuropsychological battery and a self-report questionnaire, in order to provide a more comprehensive understanding of cognitive functioning in adolescents. A quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, correlational, and explanatory design was employed. The sample consisted of 96 adolescents between 12 and 15 years old from the state of Puebla, Mexico. A total of 10.41% of participants presented severe symptoms of generalized anxiety. A significant relationship was found between anxiety and one o...

This article is concerned with pointing out and believing that the Criminal Procedure Code of 2004, considering the judgment stage as a main phase of the criminal proceedings under the principles of orality, publicity, immediacy, contradiction and procedural equality, among others, would demonstrate a clearly established delimitation of functions, both for the procedural parties, as well as for the impartial third party, forming a triadic scenario in the judgment. Therefore, beyond the observation, control and direction of the oral judgment, it would be counterproductive to accept some judicial intervention in the probative activity as also prescribed in the said adjective code. The objectives of the study are to identify which procedural and structural principles that govern the oral trial are violated with the powers of intervention of the judge of judgment within the framework of the...

The optimal control in linear systems is a widely known problem that leads to the solution of one or two equations of Ricatti. However, in non-linear systems is required to obtain the solution of the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equation (HJB) or variations, which consist of quadratic first order and partial differential equations, that are really difficult to solve. On the other hand, many non-linear dynamical systems can be represented as polynomial functions, where thanks to abstract algebra there are several techniques that facilitate the analysis and work with polynomials. This is where the sum-of-squares approach can be used as a sufficient condition to determine the positivity of a polynomial, a tool that is used in the search for suboptimal solutions of the HJB equation for the synthesis of a controller. The main objective of this thesis is the analysis, improvement and/or extension o...

The aim of this study is to understand and control type 1 diabetes mellitus, using state theory and algorithms to control Kalman filters. In some northern countries it is acquiring truly epidemic characteristics. All people over 40 years of age, with diabetic ancestors, being overweight or drinking too much liquor, have a tendency to acquire the disease. In fact, diabetes is directly or indirectly responsible for the increase in the death rate in the country, and the existence of a large number of people who are blind or disabled. In Peru, there are approximately one million diabetics, of whom 50% do not know they have the disease and it is estimated that about one in 20 diabetics suffer from Type 1 diabetes mellitus, also known as juvenile or insulin dependent diabetes. In front of it, the scientists of the world are developing different technologies in order to alleviate the disease wi...

Early mathematical competencies have a great impact on academic performance and on the development of more complex mathematical skills, especially in early education. Several authors have highlighted the importance of working memory and inhibition in the development of these mathematical skills; however, there is no agreement regarding the explanatory capacity of these executive domains with respect to differentiated performance in mathematics. The aim of this research was to evaluate the predictive capacity of verbal and visuospatial working memory and of behavioral and cognitive inhibition in mathematical competencies of relational logic and numerical type in 106 Chilean children of early education between 4 and 6 years old, who were evaluated with four executive tasks and an early mathematical assessment test. For data analysis, correlations and multiple linear regressions were perfor...

Self-control is a relevant concept for understanding human behavior across different areas of life. It is associated with positive aspects in various domains and has a pragmatic value as a prerequisite for the successful achievement of long-term goals. In this regard, there are different theories and approaches to the study of self-control. Gaining a deeper understanding of the psychological mechanisms involved in this capacity could guide the design of more effective strategies to foster its development across different contexts. This narrative review article focuses on an updated overview of two of the main theoretical models of this construct, identifying potential similarities and differences. First, Roy F. Baumeister’s model proposes that self-control is a limited resource similar to a muscle. Self-control fatigue is known as “ego depletion”. Second, Kentaro Fujita’s model s...
