This paper is concerned with traveling wave solutions for a delayed reaction-diffusion SVIR epidemic model that includes both general incidence function and imperfect vaccination. In the model, the spread of infection in space is explicitly taken into account by using a heterogeneous environment; it takes into consideration the delay in immune response and inefficiency in vaccinations. The analysis carried out below shows that the basic reproduction number Ro will be a critical value for determining the existence of traveling waves. More precisely, when Ro > 1 there exists a minimal wave speed ρ* > 0 such that the system admits nontrivial traveling wave solutions for ρ ≥ ρ* whereas no such solutions exist for ρ < ρ*. On the other hand, if Ro ≤ 1, there are no traveling wave solutions. The introduction of delays and imperfect vaccination adds richness and complexity to t...

The present article demonstrates the historical bases previous to the success of alternative development in the region San Martín. It shows that anti-drug policy was unable to successfully function during the 1980s due to an absence of basic security conditions in the region. The ar- ticle’s main objective consists in presenting how the state managed to meet said security condi- tions. Thus, this article is divided into two periods of analysis. First, it focuses on the time period from 1980 to 1989 and shows how generalized state repression resulted counterproductive in the region because of strong subversive forces. Second, it presents the time period from 1989 to 1995 and demonstrates how the exercise of sequential period of focalized repression facilitated an environment to fight against drug trafficking. In this way, the focalized strategy and sequence permitted the state ...

This master thesis is devoted to the state estimation of a particular form of PDE systems, coupled parabolic PDEs with spatial dependent coefficients. This form of PDEs represent some dynamic systems such as Tubular Reactors, Diffusion in lithium-ion cells and Diffusive Gradient in Thin Films sensor. Other methods for this problem use "Backstepping" observers, in which the estimation error system is transformed into another system that is stable, reducing the problem to calculate the Kernel functions making the transformation possible. In some cases this calculation is not simple, also the simulation in real time of the observer system, that is also a PDE, can be difficult. The method presented in this thesis uses the properties of the so-called Modulating Functions in order to estimate the states. The procedure con- sists of generating an orthonormal basis of functions that can represen...

The purpose of this study is to determine the correlation between executive functions and mathematical notions in five-year-old children. In order to carry out the investigation, 80 infants of a public institution were taken as a sample, who were evaluated the different notions such as object, space, time and order; in conjunction with executive functions working memory, inhibitory control and cognitive flexibility. For which two observation sheets were used. The methodology used corresponds to a quantitative approach of basic type, basic type, correlational level, non-experimental design, cross-section. As a result, Rho = 0.638, were obtained, which indicates that the correlation is positive moderate according to Spearman with an equivalent degree of bilateral significance ap = 0.00 (p <.005), so a significant relationship between the two is affirmed. themes. It was concluded that th...

This study aims to design a virtual learning platform for the Francisco Pizarro Educational Unit, based on a Moodle pedagogical model that offers a variety of flexible tools and functions that make it easier for students to build their own knowledge, the methodology is a research with a focus quantitative based on empiricism, experience, observation and analysis of facts, the research design is quasi-experimental, the survey and questions were used for the pair of variables, 74 students participated. It is concluded that the Shapiro-Wilk test (n < 50); points out that in the pretest, both the control group and the experimental group obtain a sig. = 0.000. Consequently, in all cases, the groups obtained a sig. < 0.05, in this way the H0 is rejected and the HI is accepted: which means that the data analyzed does not follow a normal distribution. Therefore, the Mann Whitney U statistic was ...

In Mexico, a high percentage of young people experience symptoms of generalized anxiety, which are associated with difficulties in executive functions (EF). However, previous studies have shown inconsistent results, as they often rely solely on either objective or subjective measures. Therefore, this study focused on analyzing the relationship between generalized anxiety and EF using both a neuropsychological battery and a self-report questionnaire, in order to provide a more comprehensive understanding of cognitive functioning in adolescents. A quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, correlational, and explanatory design was employed. The sample consisted of 96 adolescents between 12 and 15 years old from the state of Puebla, Mexico. A total of 10.41% of participants presented severe symptoms of generalized anxiety. A significant relationship was found between anxiety and one o...

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is considered a neurodevelopmental disorder, whose prevalence has increased in recent years, showing in some cases deficits in the cognitive area, with processing speed (PS) being one of the affected variables. Therefore, the present study aims to: 1) compare the scores obtained in relation to the PS variable between students aged 6 to 11 with ASD and their peers with neurotypical development in Metropolitan Lima; and 2) establish the PS profile of the included students with ASD. For this, 30 children aged 6 to 11 attending to regular basic education institutions (RBE) in Metropolitan Lima were sampled, 15 with neurotypical development and 15 included with ASD. For the first objective, a case-control design (CCD) was used, while the second objective was a selective non-probabilistic cross-sectional design. Results showed a lower performance by the group wit...

What is the basis of the crimes perpetrated by State officials (special delicts)? The answer to this question was not always important in the history of the penal doctrine, because only from the work of Claus Roxin was renewed the debate on this type of crimes. The different positions in discussion take their arguments back to the very same concept of a punishable act, whether it is understood as the injury of an interest or as the injury to the validity of the rule. Peru has not been a scenario alien to this debate, since the arguments of the various Supreme Court rulings in the proceedings against Fujimori give proof of this. In this article, it is argued that most special delicts should be understood as special guarantor crimes, because their authors, far from violating a duty, actually have control over the vulnerability of an interest, or over the supervision of a source of danger...

The optimal control in linear systems is a widely known problem that leads to the solution of one or two equations of Ricatti. However, in non-linear systems is required to obtain the solution of the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equation (HJB) or variations, which consist of quadratic first order and partial differential equations, that are really difficult to solve. On the other hand, many non-linear dynamical systems can be represented as polynomial functions, where thanks to abstract algebra there are several techniques that facilitate the analysis and work with polynomials. This is where the sum-of-squares approach can be used as a sufficient condition to determine the positivity of a polynomial, a tool that is used in the search for suboptimal solutions of the HJB equation for the synthesis of a controller. The main objective of this thesis is the analysis, improvement and/or extension o...

By means of the State countries officially approach the topic of Public Health. The National Health Authority (NHA) is responsible for ensuring public asset in health matters including confronting Public Health problems (PHP) as it holds exclusive stewardship of regulation and supervision functions. Norm emission is expression of this function and objectives of NHA activity includes control and solution of Public Health problems. According to PHP causes norms emitted will be oriented to respond what to do, how should it be, or how to do it? Norm emission obeys to the principles of obligatory fulfillment, national implementation, technical and scientific basis, operative viability, accordance with reality, defense of Public Health goods, and sanitary political coherence. Exercise of NHA regulation and supervision function will be efficient when PHP are solved thus contributing to improvin...

This master thesis is devoted to the design, analysis, and experimental validation of an energy-based control strategy for the well-known benchmark cart-pole system in implicit Port-Hamiltonian (PH) representation. The control scheme performs two tasks: swingup and (local) stabilization. The swing-up controller is carried out on the basis of a generalized energy function and consists of bringing the pendulum trajectories from the lower (stable) position to a limit cycle (homoclinic orbit), which passes by the upright (unstable) position, as well as the cart trajectories to the desired point. The (local) stabilizing controller is designed under a novel algebraic Interconnection and Damping Assignment Passivity-Based Control (IDA-PBC) technique and ensures the upright (asymptotic) stabilization of the pendulum as well as the cart at a desired position. To illustrate the effectiveness of th...
