This study aims to know how the training processes of practicing teachers contribute to the construction of beliefs about teaching at the university. Froma qualitative methodology with agrounded theory approach, professors from public and private universities were selected through theoretical sampling. In-depth interviews were conducted to collect data whichwere analytically coded. Among the results it was found that the teachers' beliefs come frominstitutional training of a normative typewhich emphasizes a functional teaching in didactic techniques, use of technology and innovation, excluding training in knowledge of the discipline they teach. Thus,it was also found that teachers carry out self-training processes on a personal initiativefor updating scientific knowledgeand develop their practices teaching with strategies that they themselves use to learn, because they believe in their o...

In the learning society, one of the challenges for teachers in training is the need to define and develop a set of professional skills in their initial training, essential for their subsequent entry into the labor market. In this work, the aim was to delve into the employability skills developed by students in the Primary Education undergraduate study program, their relevance for their process of socio-labor insertion, as well as their global perception to face it. An inter-university study was carried out with a total of 210 students in their final year at Universidad de Murcia and Universidade da Coruña, both Spanish. The collection of information was carried out on the basis of the previously validated Labor Counseling and Insertion Questionnaire. The results showed few differences between the assessments of the students of both universities, which coincide in pointing out to a great...

The present article cover the latent preoccupation in the last years about the ethical formation of the teacher in relation to the “crisis of values” in which we live in. The topic will be approached giving a general view of what is and what isn’t the ethical formation of the university professor. In this sense, it tries to analyze in which ways the concepts of ethics and citizenship are installed in the professor’s speech, but do not manage to manifest themselves effectively in the schools. We will analyze the concept of ethical formation as a process of collective construction, which demands the preparation and exercise of critical reflection, just like the taking of decisions about moral situations that regulate the coexistence between the actors in the educational process (students, professors, administrative personnel, etc.) We will reflect on the role of the profess...

This research sought to describe the teaching strategies used by teachers in the interaction processes of first grade students in two educational institutions in Lima. The technique used was, in the first place, observation, for which a field notebook and a checklist were used. Second, interviews were applied to teachers. Among the finds, the significance of the strategies employed, such as teamwork, dynamics of integration and assignment of roles in the modes of interaction of first grade students, was evidenced. Likewise, certain predominant attitudes were observed among some students, which evidenced the establishment of both horizontal and vertical interactions.

Qualitative study, where 13 teachers selected by a socio-structural sampling participated. A semi-structured interview and the content analysis technique were applied using ATLAS.ti. Results. This article describes a university experience whose objectives were (a) to define the digital competences of professors, (b) to state how they use Information and Communications Technology (ITC), and (c) to know their perceptions on the importance of facilitating this type of competences in the students. Through the CODIPES questionnaire, a total of 53 professors from the Social and Legal Sciences area of the University of Malaga (2016/2017 academic year) were assessed. Among the conclusions obtained from this study, we underscore the importance given to ICTs in training and their consideration as such in the teaching and learning processes, pointing out several factors that have a bearing on their use, such as lack of time or resources, the individual's ideas, or lack of information.

Introduction. The metaverse is a construction of universes operated in digital environments where users connect to alternate realities on an identity platform through avatars that reflect their appearance, physical movements, body and facial expressions. Objective. To identify teachers’ knowledge about the metaverse and propose pedagogical strategies that support its incorporation into the thematic content of the subjects. Method. 68 teachers working in higher education institutions between 36 and 55 years of age participated. A non-parametric test (Chi-Square) was applied to identify possible relationships between the variable Knowledge of the Metaverse and the activities of teachers on technological trends, adaptation and learning dynamics on artificial intelligence of students. Results. It was identified that only 46 % of the teaching staff knows what the Metaverse is and that non-p...

This research was carried out with the objective of analyzing the relationship between the evaluation of the university professor and the satisfaction of recognition needs. It is a non-experimental inductive study, of a descriptive and correlational type of mixed approach. The sample consisted of a total of 28 professors from the English area of the main campus of a Private University of Lima, in the 2018- II cycle, using a probabilistic sampling for convenience. The questionnaire was conducted as an instrument and the survey as a technique. The system used by the university shows evidence of relating positively to the recognition needs of the university teacher; the study has contributed with the verification of processes and tools applied to the evaluation and the impact on the collaborator specifically in their satisfaction of needs, oriented to generate an added value for the educati...

In order to recognize if the learning experience has been effective, one must explore different variables related to the learning process and to the demonstration of what has been learned (academic achievement). One variable that clearly relates with these two events are emotional experiences. Emotions are psychological processes that intervene with the learning process as well as the students’ academic achievement, either to favor or impair them. (Shunck, Pintrich y Meece, 2008; Gumora y Arsenio, 2002).This article discusses the nature of the emotional experience as well as the consequences of emotional self-regulation in the learning process and in academic achievement. Also, it discusses how the teacher can help students achieve an self-regulated emotional behavior (Shunck, Pintrich y Meece, 2008).
