The World Health Organization defines smoking as a chronic addictive disease widespread worldwide. It represents one of the greatest threats to public health, affecting children, youth and adults. It is estimated, that there are 1.300 million smokers in the world and about 80% of these live in countries where there is a high rate of morbidity and mortality associated with tobacco mainly in adult consumers. In particular, the consumption of tobacco among young university students is evident and worrisome. Different authors in the world have raised factors for tobacco use among adolescents and young adults. Such studies argue that the habit of smoking usually begins during adolescence and consolidates in the university stage. Smoking in parents, relatives, and friends is a factor, perhaps the most remarkable, which is associated with the acquisition of smoking as a habit.

International immigration with different reasons such as education and citizenship is by no means a new phenomenon in the modern global world. Nevertheless, intense immigration was sparked and had serious implications, especially for European countries like France after the year 2010, which marked the start of the revolution in Tunisia and the birth of such a phenomenon as the Arab spring. After the end of the colonial era and the loss of colonial possessions by France, the French state encountered the problem of the influx of an infinite number of Arab and African immigrants who had considerable ethnic, religious and cultural-historical characteristics. Exacerbating the problem was that the distinctions seemed essential even when compared with immigrants from other countries, for example, Eastern and Southern Europe. The latter had a relatively similar culture and mentality to the Frenc...

The recent centenary of the beginning of the War of the Pacific (1879-1884) has generated an intense debate on the national problem and the development of nationalist consciousness in Peru. Faced with the rapid defeat suffered by the Peruvian army (1879-1881) and the disunity of the population during the Chilean occupation (1881-1884), historians have begun to wonder if the various sectors of Peruvian society knew how to ignore their ethnic, racial or class interests to give priority to the fight against the invader. One position in this debate, forming part of the new historiographical trend that criticizes the most sterilely patriotic assumptions of nineteenth-century Peruvian history, maintains that the population in general, instead of uniting in the common defense of the national territory, preferred to remain neutral. or even ally with the Chileans against their internal enemies.

Globalization as a phenomenon, being universal by its nature and character, covers not only the global economy, finance, and mass media, where it manifests itself in the most developed form, but also in other spheres of social life, including law. At the same time, the impact of global factors significantly affects the essential and substantive aspects of the state's legal system. The article deals with such concepts as globalization, unification, and universalization in the context of human rights theory. The universal culture of human rights is based on the universalization of the idea of human rights and the universal recognition of such values as human dignity, freedom, and responsibility. The development of human rights is considered as a social phenomenon included in the general dynamics of social processes. First of all, the influence of globalization on human rights in the contex...

This article aims to provide a new concept of industrial processes, the so-called sustainable industrial processes that are used in industrial plants and competitive companies responsible for developing chemicals. These innovative processes should incorporate in its design stages that are efficient, producing less waste and scrap, not pollute the environment, using substances which are safe, and the products and by-products produced by them. These processes must be safe, both internally (for workers) and externally (for communities and ecosystems) and must contribute to sustainable development, ensuring the efficient use of natural resources and promoting the use of renewable resources. An example is the production cellulose pulp that is produced throughout Latin America (Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay), but a sustainable industrial process can be developed nationally.

Interculturality, as an idea and as a fact, so present since the last decades of the last century, because of the increasing domestic and international migrations worldwide, entails conceptions which come to be too diverse as the prevailing cultures at the regions of exchange. These differences favor some viewpoints and political interests, disregarding others. This obstructs the generation of shared mainstream. And Latin America holds a singular position therein.

Migration is a multidimensional phenomenon that, historically, has developed since the emergence of humanity, due to the movements of human groups for different causes or purposes. Nowadays, migratory flows stem from different economic, political and social aspects that are immersed in globalization; for example, capital mobility, job search, ethnic or religious differences, armed conflicts or poverty. These factors have become radicalized over the years to the point where the living conditions of people displaced voluntarily or involuntarily have been violated. Given this environment, spaces for dialogue have been consolidated at a global level and the presence of States such as Peru to evaluate the migration crisis, and reach agreements that allow the establishment of a regulatory framework on this matter at the international and national levels, respectively. Due to what has been expr...

The research addresses the problem of violence against women. To do this, it defines genderbased violence in its various manifestations, details the evolution of international and national regulations on this matter and analyzes the official statistics provided by the competent state institutions. Later, it explains and sustains that the penal system does not resolve social conflicts, to later affirm and sustain that criminality is produced by the design of the social structure, and is learned in social interaction. Finally, it proposes the “government of crime” as an effective mechanism to reduce criminality against women to tolerable limits.

In recent years we have observed an increasing number of publications, but also the appearance of predatory journals in which the quality of the research papers is not as expected. The boom in publication and scientific productivity is positive insofar as it shows the interest of institutions in doing research. Therefore, the objective of this article is to search for a formative research methodology that will help junior researchers to enter the world of scientific research in translation, to base their studies on solid theoretical approaches and to employ appropriate methodologies. We consider that the exploratory systematic review fulfills this purpose and presents itself as a valid and effective research alternative to train researchers in the field of descriptive translation studies and Translatology. We conclude that the systemic review fulfills several functions, among which...

At present there are several problems that affect students and their academic performance such as low socioeconomic status that can cause lack of resources both in their homes and in the school. In addition to psychological and personal problems in which students can be involved. According to various national and international examinations the academic level in Peru is quite low because the problems mentioned above are difficult to identify, it is not possible to propose a viable solution, which is why we propose a Machine Learning model based on Clustering algorithms such as KMeans, Birch and Aglomerative that manage to group students by the most relevant characteristics or disadvantages they present.

The United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, four decades after the adoption of its final text, has become the main source of the law of the sea applicable to human activities in the ocean. The almost planetary recognition and the almost indisputable validity of the Convention is based on its successful capacity to regulate the rights and obligations of the States in the maritime spaces established by it, as well as on its aptitude to adapt to the new realities and problems that the oceans face. Based on the analysis of the Convention, it seeks to understand the mechanisms that allow it to respond to the needs and interests of an international system in permanent change.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze whether law is indeed a type of knowledge that should be presumed to be known or not known by all. Based on a review of various authors and standards, language barriers against the possibility of effective access to various types of national and international regulations are identified. Finally, some solutions to the above-mentioned problems are proposed.
