Oblique rotation of factors is usually performed in exploratory factor analysis in order to achieve the best and simplest interpretation of the solution based on the prescribed number of factors. Currently available algorithms, however, do not take into account the fluctuation of the correlations on which the factor solution is based. If such correlations’ stability is low, the rotated solution obtained in a specific sample may substantially differ from the rotated solutions obtained in different samples from the same population. The present paper proposes a modified version of the Promin rotation designed to achieve simple and stable rotated solutions through the samples. The usefulness of Robust Promin is illustrated by using an empirical example based on a real dataset. The procedure proposed in this paper has been implemented in the FACTOR factor analysis program version 10.9.

Although frontal prominence is an infrequent benign defect that causes no sequelae, it gives the patient distress due to its unaesthetic visual aspect. Proper surgical recontouring of the forehead can radically change one's appearance. In consequence, different techniques have been proposed for its management and correction. The aim of this study is to describe a surgical algorithm to treat male patients with forehead reduction to soften the forceful look. An observational cross-sectional study was conducted at the head and neck surgery ward of a general hospital between 2019 and 2022. We performed 35 forehead reduction operations on male patients. This work reports a photometric monitoring of the intermediate polar cataclysmic variable star FO Aqr. This is part of the ongoing OAUNI stellar variability program. Around 1200 individual measurements (or ? 9 hrs of observations) were gathered distributed in five nights. The observation epoch was coincident with the 2016 low state brightness of FO Aqr. Good quality light curves detect unambiguously the expected stellar variability of FO Aqr. The analysis using periodograms let to determine the main two known periods, P1 = 20.380 ± .003 min and P2 = 11.076 ± .001 min. Our full five-nights analysis shows that P1, the spin white dwarf period, is more prominent than P2, the one-half of the beat period between the spin and orbital periods. OBJETIVO: Determinar si la circunferencia de cuello prominente en adultos se asocia a síndrome metabólico. METODOLOGÍA: Se realizó un estudio correlacional, observacional y transversal empleando un tamaño muestral total de 144 pacientes adultos del Hospital I La Esperanza. Para determinar la relación entre variables cuantitativas se utilizó la prueba estadística U – Mann – Whitney mientras que para las variables cualitativas se empleó a la prueba estadística chi cuadrado.
