The right ventricular (RV) apical pacing causes a dyssynchronous activation of the left ventricle and the papillary muscles, which determines the decline of the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) in addition to inadequate closure of the valvular apparatus with the presence of different degrees of mitral valve regurgitation. The study of this condition is relevant in clinical decision-making to define patients who benefit from cardiac resynchronization for the relief of symptomatic mitral regurgitation. However, there is a wide heterogeneity of conditions and pathologies that can coexist with different degrees of cardiomyopathies in these patients, which makes etiological determination challenging and worsens the clinical course. The transthoracic echocardiography allows us the comprehensive assessment of mitral valve regurgitation and ventricular function parameters as well as mec...

We present the case of a 51-year-old male with non-ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy and complete atrioventricular block, who was previously implanted with a cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator. The patient developed signs of pocket infection with a high risk of extrusion. Partial system extraction was performed, followed by 14 days of intravenous antibiotic therapy. Due to a history of ventricular fibrillation and permanent pacing dependency, and in the absence of viable transvenous access, a sequential implantation strategy was adopted using a leadless pacemaker (Micra AV, Medtronic) and a subcutaneous implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (EMBLEM, Boston Scientific). Both procedures were completed without complications, and the patient showed favorable recovery, with effective pacing, no arrhythmic recurrences, and no signs of infection at the six-month follow-up. This case...

In order to investigate the influence of shrimp farming activities on carbon and nutrient accumulation, sediment cores were collected from two areas at different distances from shrimp farms within a Peruvian mangrove ecosystem. In both areas two sediment cores were collected in a transect, one from a mangrove-covered site and one from a mudflat site. At both study sites, the isotopic values of carbon and nitrogen as well as the C:N molar ratios suggest that the highest carbon accumulation rates were linked to terrestrial-derived organic matter, with higher carbon stocks and fluxes within mangrove-covered zones. The historical records indicate that since the mid-1970's, the areas nearest to the shrimp farming activity have been accumulating higher proportions of algal derived organic matter, which were likely triggered by the high nutrient influx derived from shrimp farming effluents. The...

Testing is a modern high-quality method of knowledge check. Informatization which began in the late XX – early XXI century contributed to the growth of various tests. However, the inclusion of tests in the educational process is at a slower pace. This is largely due to the lack of a methodological basis for test development. It is proved that the test control methodology is an interdisciplinary theory that combines the achievements of pedagogy, psychology, measurement theory, quality theory, statistics, mathematics, organization and management theory. The article describes the principle of the testing methodology; the type and kinds of tests are determined, as well as the methodological principles for high-quality text creation. The criteria are described that must be met by tests: relations with education and training, objectivity, systematicity and comprehensive nature, relevance, th...

The study analyzed the musculoskeletal behavior of five operators while performing a repetitive task at an experimental station to prevent workplace accidents and illnesses in the short, medium, and long term. It used infrared thermography to monitor temperatures, focusing on specific areas of the arm of the five workers. Workers showed greater muscle activity in the elbow, forearm, and shoulder at an average pace, with less impact on the hand and upper arm. When the pace increased, activity intensified in the hand, shoulder, and elbow, while it decreased in the forearm and upper arm. The results indicate that thermography helps identify levels of muscle activity, which could help prevent injuries. The study also showed that the operators increased their assembly production as follows: 1(+64), 2(+26), 3(+62), 4(+3), and 5(+52).

Plant breeders and geneticists use molecular marker-assisted selection also called as MAS as a useful approach for breeding of plant to make selection more efficient and speed up the breeding cycle. MAS can be more efficient, effective, and reliable than phenotypic selection. Molecular markers are useful to identify the economically important traits in the breeding population for further manipulation in a short time. Due to the applicability of markers at the seedling stage ensuring high precision at the reduced level of cost, marker-assisted selection offer the chances to improve responses from selection. The MAS using DNA level polymorphism accelerate the pace of selection. The main marker technologies applied are chiefly co-dominant markers i.e. microsatellite markers/SSR (Simple Sequence Repeats) marker, RFLP (Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism) marker and SNPs ...

Nowadays, an engineer’s work consists more and more of obtaining mathematical models of the studied processes. Great part of the literature referring to system identification deals with how to find polynomial models as Prediction Error Methods (PEM) and Instrumental Variable Methods (IVM). In case of complex systems, the state space model appears as an alternative to PEM and IVM models. For multivariable systems, these methods provide reliable state space models directly from input and output data. As systems of large dimensions are usually found in industry, the application of subspace identification algorithms in this field is very promising. Currently the subspaceidentification models Multivariable Output Error State sPace (MOESP) and Numerical algorithms for Subspace State Space System IDentification (N4SID), are topic of study. The objective of this work is to implement th...

The main features of the XXI century Russian society have been formed due to social and psychological changes, which led to a global transformation of the state system. Modern world faces the problem of developing a new policy of state power that will be based on the principles of consensus (reconciliation of all contentious and conflicting issues in the process of developing a solution that is reached through discussion and consultation), society and open partnership. The reason for this global upheaval is that the pace of change in the relationship between the state (government) and society itself depends on the open-ended policy that is now key. The image of a civil servant is similar to a construction that can be replaced, strengthened, re-mounted, modified, etc., and most importantly, that it needs serious work. The perception of the image exists and changes not only in the consciou...

In a world where technology is advancing at an accelerated pace and businesses are beginning to implement it, we jurists must ask ourselves how this impacts Commercial Law and if it is necessary to create laws that promote or restrict its use. Also, it is questionable whether these new technologies will impact the societal structures that we currently know.
