This article examines how the notion of «cacique», introduced through interethnic contact, has been appropriated by the Korubo, speakers of the Pano linguistic family and inhabitants of the Vale do Javari Indigenous Territory, state of Amazonas, in the Brazilian Amazon. Based on the first ethnographic research carried out among the Korubo, it investigates transformations in gender relations that were driven by the interethnic contact with the Brazilian State and indigenous agencies. The article argues that, in the context of this relationship, there is a misunderstanding between the non-indigenous concept of «cacique» and certain authority figures in the daily life of Korubo villages.

The paper analyses a Judeo-Spanish publication, The TraJumán, published in Vienna by Michael Papo, from the point of view of Phraseology as a linguistic subdiscipline. Our aim here is to establish the relation of the Judeo-Spanish phraseological units (PhU) of the publication dealt with here with those of Spanish in general and with the elements borrowed from other languages or loan translations. For this purpose, we carried out a detailed analysis in order to determine, study and classify the PhU according to Corpas’ model (1996), with certain conceptual adaptations (Penadés 2012, López Simó 2016, Núñez Bayo 2016). El presente estudio analiza, desde el punto de vista de la Fraseología como subdisciplina lingüística, una obra judeoespañola, El Traumán, de Michael Papo, publicada en Viena en 1884. Nuestro objetivo es establecer las relaciones de las unidades fraseológicas (UF) judeoespañolas de la obra con las del español general y los elementos prestados o calcados de otras lenguas. Para ello, se ha efectuado la detección y extracción de los fraseologismos, su análisis y su catalogación de acuerdo con el modelo de Corpas (1996) con ciertas desviaciones conceptuales (Penadés 2012, López Simó 2016, Núñez Bayo 2016). Objective: To describe the frequency of coping with death and to analyze the factors associated with inadequate coping. Materials and methods: An observational and correlational design was applied. The study population was composed with health students in 2024, from several Latin American countries. Sociodemographic variables and coping with Bugen LA's death were measured using a virtual Google Forms™. Results: The sample included 383 respondents, of whom 272 were women (71.1%) with a mean age of 21 ± 7 years and 111 men (28.9%) were 24 ± 8 years. Students from Peru (59.92%) and Paraguay (34.73%) predominated, with the medical career being the most frequent (71.54%). Inadequate coping with death was detected in 191 students (49.87%). El año de 2020 se marcó por la pandemia de la Covid-19, que generó una situación de crisis mundial cuyo enfrentamiento desafía la Administración Pública y la gestión de diversos sectores. Modelos de fragilidade foram desenvolvidos para quantificar tanto a heterogeneidade quanto a associação em dados multivariados de tempos de eventos. As distribuições de fragilidade utilizadas em muitos estudos incluem as distribuições gama, Inversa Gaussiana (IG), ou a Positiva estável (PE). Estas distribuições geralmente são escolhidos devido à simplicidade analítica e computacional ou por alguma propriedade atrativa do modelo. A escolha da distribuição da fragilidade é de fundamental importância para assim chegar a uma boa descrição da estrutura de dependência presente nos dados. Background: The city of Manaus, Brazil, has seen two collapses of the health system due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We report anti-SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid IgG antibody seroconversion rates and associated risk factors in Manaus residents before the second wave of the epidemic in Brazil. Methods: A convenience sample of adult (aged ≥18 years) residents of Manaus was recruited through online and university website advertising into the DETECTCoV-19 study cohort. The current analysis of seroconversion included a subgroup of DETECTCoV-19 participants who had at least two serum sample collections separated by at least 4 weeks between Aug 19 and Oct 2, 2020 (visit 1), and Oct 19 and Nov 27, 2020 (visit 2). There is discussion about the possibility of predicting and controlling addictions by intervening in social skills; the results found before are contradictory. In this study, addiction to social networks and social skill were related in predictive terms. A non-probabilistic sample of 142 high school students residing in Tacna-Peru, aged 14 to 17, was used. They were given the social network addiction questionnaire and the Goldstein social skills questionnaire.
