In the second half of the 20th century, many music researchers demonstrated a steady interest in music categories as the space and time, whose fundamental nature and unifying (integrating) potential are obvious. However, despite the undoubted contribution to the consolidation of the findings, there was a need for further improvement in music studies, both regarding the content and the logical (including mathematical) research apparatus. This article considers these aspects of the comprehensive model of the semantic space of music in modern research theory and practice and its impact on the system of contemporary musical education.

Levels of music performance anxiety (MPA) were compared in a sample of 455 Peruvian music students according to gender (males=337; females=113; missing=5), musical institution (two private and one state) and musical genre. Only gender showed an effect on MPA scores, picturing higher scores for the female group, although cultural variables could account for this difference. There were no effects of educational institution or musical genre as determined on MPA scores.

The article focuses on exploring the presence of Afro-Cuban elements, specifically of Abakuá origin, in Afro-Peruvian music, with a particular focus on two significant record productions: "Ritmos negros del Perú" (1968) by Nicomedes Santa Cruz and his Conjunto Cumanana, and "Juan de Mata" (1978) by Conjunto Perú Negro. After a thorough analysis of the musical production of groups associated with the Afro-Peruvian movement post-1968, the artistic proposal of Conjunto Perú Negro emerges as particularly interesting. While their first album, Gran Premio del Festival Hispanoamericano de la Danza y la Canción (1973), contains a reference to the Abakuá theme in the song "Canción para ekué", it is in their second production, Son de los diablos (1974), where elements specific to Abakuá culture can be more clearly identified in one of the tracks. Through this study, the aim is to contribu...

Musical theater is an artistic genre based on theater, which integrates songs, choirs (with voice or instrumentals) and dances, which are combined with the purpose of telling stories. Since 1886, musical theater has become more and more famous in countries such as the United States, Cuba, Argentina, among others. However, in Peru, only in the last decade, it has become increasingly popular. The artists in this field use certain terms specific to their jobs, which generally have a different meaning from that found in the Dictionary of the Spanish Language (2019). This paper collects forty-six (46) words that have been recovered from interviews with artists dedicated to musical theater. This research is descriptive in nature and aims at defining the words of this lexicon using the lexicographic technique. Each term contains etymological information, grammatical marks, definition, examples ...
