This work is a reflection on the relationship between the use of language and presence. The guidelines given by the Royal Spanish Academy, which advocatesthe use of male generically, are questioned. It seems that being a girl is possible as long as there is not a boy present, at that time her feminine identity is invisible. The rules of the Royal Academy, made from a vision of purely linguistic language, are refuted by several authors who argue that the language has a strong ideological charge. The article gives information about our sexist society, for this reason it defends a language who nomine both sexes, and thus contribute to a culture that values them in the same way; and, therefore, if you opt for a genre in the language, made visible the sex that is marginalized.

Este trabajo es una reflexión sobre la relación entre el lenguaje y la presencia.Se cuestionan las directrices de la Academia Española, que defiende el uso del masculino para referirse a ambos sexos. Da la impresión que ser niña es posible mientras no hay un niño presente, pues entonces se invisibiliza su ser femenino. Las normas de la Academia, hechas desde una visión del lenguaje meramente lingüística, son refutadas por autoras que tienen en cuenta la carga ideológica del mismo.Se presenta información de una sociedad todavía machista. Se defiende unlenguaje que visibilice ambos sexos, para aportar al fortalecimiento de una culturaque los valore de la misma forma; y si se opta por un género en el lenguaje hacerlopor el que desvele al sexo marginado.

Quechua is a structurally different language and, apparently, does not share typological properties with the Spanish language1. This article offers observations on some linguistic processes that have been occurring as a consequence of the long coexistence of these systems. Specifically, these are cases of Quechua influence in the lexical repertoire of Spanish. In some cases such influence is evident structurally and semantically; In others, some special attention and even some analysis is required to reach the conclusion of the existence of said relationship. Even though it can be said intuitively that the influence is greater in the Spanish➔ Quechua2 direction, the latter has not been a totally passive recipient of the Spanish influence, since there are examples that show the active role of the Quechua system influencing the Spanish system. This paper analyzes the information treatment of the Mapuche people in the newspaper El Mercurio during two periods. First, between 1950 and 1973 (twentieth century); and second, during the years 2010, 2013 and 2014, (21st century). To this end, a corpus of 340 journalistic texts has been selected, of which 147 correspond to the 20th century (1950-1970) and 193, to the 21st century (2010, 2013-2014). The analysis shows that most of the frames are linked to conflicts, criminal prosecutions and arson attacks; so that El Mercurio prioritizes connotations and negative events to inform about the Mapuche indigenous people.

This research analyses the opinion articles about the COVID-19 published in the main newspapers of Italy, Spain and Germany. To this purpose, a qualitative inductive-deductive content analysis methodology has been used along two complementary phases. The first included the detailed analysis of the sample, and the second involved a method of comparative textual analysis using the Sketch Engine software. The results show the existence of some common issues about the virus, although with different approaches depending on the country: a certain vision marked by national politics in the Spanish case, an interpretative view in the case of Germany and a more social-humanistic perspective in the Italian dailies.
