The rising incidence of intentional homicide in Guanajuato and its unidimensional analysis have limited a comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon. This mixed-method study examined individuals incarcerated between 2019 and 2021 for intentional homicide and the perceptions of social sectors in Guanajuato. Using a diverse theoretical framework, including the adaptation of Human Development Ecological Theory, 134 multidimensional factors were identified, with expressive circumstances and problematic substance use as key influences. The study highlights the value of combining qualitative narratives from incarcerated individuals with quantitative approaches to design more effective policies.

: The agricultural sector is very important worldwide, in Latin America and Mexico, due to increasing population and therefore the need for food. But this sector works mainly as a linear production system, instead of a circular one. This causes the generation of large amount of waste, which can cause water, soil and, especially, atmospheric pollution if not disposed correctly. It is therefore essential to help agricultural systems to close the material cycle and thus reduce environmental impacts and obtain a higher performance in the system. This will help to knowing how to contribute to the circular economy in the agricultural sector. This article presents the study carried out with three experimental farms in the state of Guanajuato (Mexico). The farms were diagnosed qualitatively and quantitatively, the valuation of wastes already done in the farms was detected, and new valuations wer...

In late October and early November I helped organize a workshop for tutoring promoters in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. The purpose of the workshop was to involve adult mentoring promoters in the first efforts to more explicitly generate rules and practices on the role of both adults and young people in mentoring work. So far, tutoring has spread widely, in individual demonstrations, face-to-face and in possible professional development sessions, but without the explicit intention of codifying the practice. The Guanajuato workshop was expressly conceived to see if a more explicit formulation of the tutoring practice would help to develop the new way of teaching and learning as well as accelerating its dissemination.
