description En este artículo abordamos el perfil migratorio de los estudiantes de nuevo ingreso a las universidades. Los desplazamientos estudiantiles han sido reconocidos recientemente en el campo de los estudios migratorios por su presencia en regiones altamente centralizadas. El objetivo es analizar esta modalidad migratoria de los estudiantes de recién ingreso que cambiaron su residencia para iniciar sus estudios en la Universidad Veracruzana, en México. Empleando la teoría de Bourdieu y una metodología mixta, identificamos dos grupos de estudiantes según el capital cultural que poseen, el cual conforma trayectorias escolares y migratorias, y define el valor de los estudios universitarios.

Student displacement has recently been recognized in the field of migration studies for their presence in highly centralized regions. The main objective of this paper is to analyze this migratory modality of recently admitted students who changed their residence in order to start their studies at the Universidad Veracruzana, in Mexico.
