description RESUMEN La presente investigación sobre Sistemas de Gestión en Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo (SST) se ha elaborado considerando un marco para abordar globalmente la gestión de la prevención de los riesgos laborales y para mejorar su funcionamiento de una forma organizada y continua. En tal sentido, se revisaron los enfoques de las Directrices de la OIT sobre Sistemas de Gestión en Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo (ILO/OSH 2001), OHSAS 18001 Sistemas de Gestión de Seguridad y Salud Ocupacional y la normativa nacional: Ley N° 29783, Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo y su Reglamento aprobado mediante el Decreto Supremo N° 005-2012-TR. Esta investigación se centra en el uso referencial para todas las empresas, entidades públicas o privadas del sector industria, comercio, servicios y otros. Del trabajo realizado se brindarán las pautas de los principales aspectos de un sistema de gestión; como la de elaborar una política, desarrollar o implementar medidas de control adecuadas, verificar las medidas tomadas y comprobar que éstas hayan dado resultados positivos y finalmente, actuar para corregir los problemas encontrados y proponer las acciones en pro de mejoras continuas porque toda empresa debe contar con un Sistema de Gestión de Seguridad y Salud Ocupacional, que permita el control de la seguridad de sus procesos y la protección de la salud de sus trabajadores; logrando un mayor respaldo para la empresa y contribuyendo a un mejor desempeño y mayores beneficios. El presente trabajo plantea una Propuesta de Implementación de un Sistema de Gestión de Seguridad y Salud Ocupacional bajo la norma OHSAS 18001 para mejorar una empresa del sector minero de la ciudad de Cajamarca. PALABRAS CLAVE: seguridad, gestión de seguridad, salud ocupacional, OHSAS18001.ABSTRACT The present research on Safety Management Systems and Health (OSH) has been developed considering a framework for addressing global management prevention of occupational risks and to improve its functioning in an organized and continuous manner. In this regard, the approaches of the ILO Guidelines on Safety Management Systems and Health at Work (ILO / OSH 2001), OHSAS 18001 Management Systems Occupational Safety and Health and the national regulations were revised Law No. 29783, Law on Safety and Health at Work and its Regulations approved by Supreme Decree No. 005-2012-TR. This research focuses on the benchmark used for all companies, public or private entities of industry, trade, services and other sectors. The work patterns of the main aspects of a management system are provided; and drawing up a policy, develop or implement adequate control measures, and verify the measures taken to check that they have yielded positive results and finally act to correct the problems encountered and propose actions for continuous improvement because every company must have with a Management System for Occupational Safety and Health, which allows control of the safety of their processes and the protection of the health of their workers; achieving greater support for the company and contributing to improved performance and increased profits. This paper presents a proposal to implement a Management System for Occupational Safety and Health under the OHSAS 18001 for improving a mining company in the city of Cajamarca.
