description La presente tesis tiene como objetivo general realizar una propuesta de mejora en las áreas de abastecimiento y mantenimiento con la finalidad de aumentar la rentabilidad de la empresa CMC arenado y pintura industrial E.I.R.L. Para ello se ha planteado mejorar la situación actual de las áreas de logística y mantenimiento mediante la aplicación de herramientas de Ingeniería Industrial. Se inicia la investigación con un diagnóstico de la situación actual del proceso de mantenimiento y abastecimiento logístico encontrando que los principales problemas que afectan a la rentabilidad actual son las fallas correctivas debido a la falta de un plan de mantenimiento preventivo y los retrasos de producción debido a ausencia de materiales por una falta de políticas adecuadas para la gestión de los principales insumos, ocasionando elevados costos de producción, luego se formuló el problema al que se dará solución con esta tesis. Habiendo identificado las oportunidades de mejora, se hicieron empleo de algunas herramientas de ingeniería industrial con el objetivo de mejorar los problemas del área de mantenimiento con un programa de mantenimiento preventivo para la reducción del número de fallas de los equipos y sus costos de mantenimiento correctivo, y para el área de abastecimiento la aplicación de la metodología 5S y un sistema de ABC de almacenes se reduce tiempos ociosos, costos; así como el aprovechamiento de la redistribución de planta. Luego del desarrollo de las propuestas para cada área se evalúa el beneficio para la empresa recalculando los indicadores diseñados inicialmente para obtener un resultado preciso de la medición sobre el beneficio calculado de las herramientas y metodologías aplicadas. Para culminar, se realizó una evaluación económica financiera obteniéndose un VAN de $ 9 079 604.26 pesos chilenos y un TIR de 141% el cual es mayor a la tasa de costo de oportunidad, así también un PRI de 1.54 meses y el beneficio costo es mayor a uno. Se concluye que el proyecto es factible de realizar en la empresa CMC Arenado y Pintura Industrial E.I.R.L debido a que estos indicadores financieros nos muestran resultados positivos.

To achieve this general objective, the current situation of the logistics and maintenance areas has been improved through the application of Industrial Engineering tools. The investigation begins with a diagnosis of the current situation of the process of the maintenance and the logistic area, finding that the main problems that affects the current profitability are corrective failures due to the lack of a preventive maintenance plan and the delays of the production due to the absence of materials due to a lack of adequate policies for the management and stock control of the main materials, this causes high production costs. The problem was formulated, and this solution was solved. Once identified the opportunities at these areas we used some industrial engineering tools in order to improve the problems of maintenance area with a preventive maintenance program to reduce the number of equipment failures and the costs of proper maintenance, and for the logistics area, the application of the 5S methodology and the warehouse ABC system reduce idle times and costs; as well as the use of the redistribution of the plant. After the development of the proposals for each area, the benefit for the company is evaluated by recalculating the indicators initially designed to obtain a precise result of the measurement on the calculated benefit of the tools and methodologies applied. Finally, a financial economic evaluation was calculated obtaining a NPV of $ 9 079 604.26 Chilean pesos, a TIR of 141% which is greater than the opportunity cost rate, a PRI of 1.54 months, as well as the cost benefit is greater than one.
