description Esta investigación tiene como objetivo dar a conocer los efectos sociales, económicos y ambientales de los hoteles sostenibles en el desarrollo de las comunidades rurales de Latinoamérica. Para poder realizar esta investigación, se optó por la revisión bibliográfica, tomando en cuenta documentos como: tesis, revistas y artículos electrónicos. Esta investigación está enfocada en estudios realizados sobre diversos destinos en Latinoamérica, que demuestran cómo la hotelería sostenible, genera un vínculo muy fuerte en relación directa con el desarrollo y la mejora de la calidad de vida de las comunidades rurales. Existen muchas investigaciones que abordan temas relacionados a la forma en que el desarrollo hotelero aplica políticas sostenibles, genera distintos efectos sociales, económicos y ambientales en las comunidades aledañas, logrando dar a muchos pobladores de la zona la oportunidad de educarse, obtener acceso a servicios médicos y conseguir oportunidades laborales en el sector hotelero. En la presente investigación se analizarán tres efectos que se relacionan directamente con el desarrollo de comunidades rurales por causa de la hotelería sostenible, los cuales son: sociales, económicos y ambientales. La oferta hotelera en Latinoamérica se está haciendo mucho más fuerte cada año y ello sumado a la aplicación de la sostenibilidad como política de los propios hoteles, viene generando un efecto muy positivo en las comunidades.

In order to carry out this research, a bibliographic review was chosen, taking into account documents such as: theses, magazines and electronic articles. This research is focused on studies carried out on various destinations in Latin America, which demonstrate how sustainable hotel management generates a very strong link in direct relation to the development and improvement of the quality of life of rural communities. There is a lot of research that addresses issues related to the way in which hotel development applies sustainable policies, generates different social, economic and environmental effects in the surrounding communities, giving many residents of the area the opportunity to educate themselves, obtain access to medical services. and get job opportunities in the hotel sector. In this research three effects that are directly related to the development of rural communities due to sustainable hotels will be analyzed, which are: social, economic and environmental.
