Así, el bienestar mental, físico y social, son indispensables a la hora de evaluar las condiciones de vida de una comunidad y el impacto que tiene hacia la sociedad. Para esto, existen determinados grupos que aún son sometidos a rechazo, vulnerando su integridad y bienestar. Entre estos, la comunidad LGBT+ ha sido blanco de actos de discriminación a lo largo de muchos años por no obedecer a ciertas conductas heteronormadas, generando retraimiento y dudas acerca de exponer su sexualidad por el temor a posibles malos desenlaces. El objetivo del presente trabajo de investigación fue explorar la forma en cómo varía el concepto de autopercepción del bienestar mental, físico y social en los miembros de la comunidad LGBT+ en relación a declarar abiertamente su orientación sexual. Para ello, se establecieron las entrevistas en profundidad como herramienta para recolectar la información necesaria. De esta manera, se obtuvo que las personas de la comunidad LGBT+ tienen una percepción positiva del proceso que tomó declarar abiertamente su sexualidad y que la mayoría sienten comodidad dentro de la misma. No obstante, en muchos casos no se recibió apoyo por parte de los familiares, llegando a excluirlos del ámbito familiar y exigiendo no hacer pública su orientación sexual así como, y por si fuera poco, dentro de la comunidad existe rechazo y discriminación hacia grupos selectos como las personas transgénero y bisexuales.Public health has incorporated the concept of population well-being as an indicator to measure the quality of life and development of a population. Thus, mental, physical and social well-being are indispensable when evaluating the living conditions of a community and the impact it has on society. For this, there are certain groups that are still subjected to rejection, violating their integrity and well-being. Among these, the LGBT+ community has been the target of acts of discrimination for many years for not obeying certain heteronormative behaviors, generating withdrawal and doubts about exposing their sexuality for fear of possible bad outcomes. The aim of this research was to explore how the concept of self-perception of mental, physical and social well-being varies in members of the LGBT+ community in relation to openly declaring their sexual orientation. For this purpose, in-depth interviews were established as a tool to collect the necessary information. In this way, it was obtained that people from the LGBT+ community have a positive perception of the process it took to openly declare their sexuality and that most of them feel comfortable within it.
