description El trabajo de investigación se realizó en la Municipalidad Provincial de Puno, iniciando con un levantamiento de información del conocimiento y los usos de la metodología BIM que cuentan los funcionarios y servidores públicos de esta entidad, así mismo se realizó un histórico del comportamiento de las obras por contrata en edificaciones desde el año 2016 al 2020, lo que ha reflejado que la Municipalidad Provincial de Puno cuenta con deficiencias en sus procedimientos contractuales y administrativo; es por ello que los proyectos en esta entidad no tienen éxito e incluso la mayoría de obras no cuentan con liquidación técnica financiera hasta la fecha. Se realizó un mapeo de procesos tradicionales que utiliza la Municipalidad Provincial de Puno de acuerdo a su organigrama y se ha detectado que el trámite para que un proyecto se viabilice a nivel de diseño toma mucho tiempo, y para que el mismo proyecto pueda ser ejecutado existen muchas trabas burocráticas; por lo que se plantea un nuevo mapeo de procesos con la metodología BIM para agilizar los procesos de la entidad, y finalmente se plantea una propuesta de mejora con el plan piloto o puesta en marcha del planteamiento de los términos de referencia con los lineamientos de la metodología BIM.
