Para las empresas públicas de saneamiento, el Buen Gobierno Corporativo toma relevancia con la responsabilidad del cumplimiento del Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible N° 6 –ODS6 “Garantizar la disponibilidad y la gestión sostenible del agua y saneamiento para todos”, que actualmente es un desafío, toda vez que requiere adoptar nuevos enfoques integrados para gestionar y asignar recursos. En el caso de La Empresa de Saneamiento, ha implementado hace 15 años, los principios del BGC, que comprende las mejores prácticas o principios del Buen Gobierno Corporativo que emplean la Organización para la Cooperación y Desarrollo Económico (OCDE), la Corporación Andina de Fomento (CAF) y el Banco Mundial (BM). El análisis de la Práctica del Buen Gobierno Corporativo en La Empresa de Saneamiento abordará dos de los Principios del BGC que serán materia de la investigación: el “Principio 15: Mecanismos de Designación de Directores”, el Principio 16 “Políticas relativas a la independencia de los Directores” y el Principio 17: “Funciones y responsabilidades del Directorio y de los Directores” teniendo en cuenta el impacto en la toma de decisiones de los directores respecto a la gestión del programa de inversiones.

For the public sanitation companies, the Good Corporate Governance becomes relevant for compliance to the Sustainable Development Goal 6 –ODS6 “Ensure the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all”, that actually is a challenge, wich requires to adopt integrated approaches to resource management and allocation. In case of La Empresa de Saneamiento, 15 years ago it has implemented the BGC principles, which includes the best practices or principles of Good Corporate Governance used by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the Andean Development Corporation (CAF) and the World Bank (WB).
