Considerando que estas edificaciones son autoconstrucciones, se concibe la posibilidad de proponer modificaciones que permitan un mejor comportamiento estructural y conservación. En los primeros capítulos se describen conceptos referentes a las construcciones en madera. Se presentan estadísticas del tipo de edificaciones que existen en la zona y sus características. Además, se describen las especies maderables empleadas, siendo las especies de Ishpingo (Amburana cearensis) y Sinlín (Gordonia fruticosa), presentes en la construcción. También se describen las características propias de las viviendas de madera y los sistemas de transferencia de cargas que estas presentan. Asimismo, se realiza el planteamiento de las cargas actuantes y el análisis estructural y diseño de todos los elementos resistentes de acuerdo con las normas vigentes. En el capítulo final, se presentan modificaciones en la estructuración y detalles constructivos que permitirán mejorar el comportamiento estructural y conservación. Finalmente, se llega a la conclusión que las viviendas de madera son capaces de soportar las exigencias de peso propio y pequeñas cargas vivas, gracias a la acción conjunta de sus distintos elementos. Todos los elementos de madera cumplen una función estructural en la resistencia de cargas, inclusive las tablas de cerramiento. Sin embargo, en términos generales las estructuras estudiadas no cumplen los requisitos del Reglamento Nacional de Edificaciones.

Since these buildings are self-constructions, the possibility of making such improvements is envisaged, which may allow a better structural behavior and conservation. The first chapters describe concepts related to wood-frame constructions. Statistics on the type of buildings in the area and their characteristics are presented. In addition, the timbers mostly used in construction are described, being of the species Ishpingo (Amburana cearensis) and Sinlín (Gordonia fruticosa). The structural characteristics of wood houses and their load transfer systems are also described. Likewise, the structural analysis and design of all the typical elements is carried out in accordance with the current standards. In the final chapter, changes in the arrangement of structural elements and construction details that will improve the structural behavior and conservation are presented. It is concluded that the typical wood houses in Bongará can withstand the demands of their own weight and small live loads, thanks to the combined action of their different components. All wood elements play a structural role in the resistance of loads, including the enclosure boards.
