El distrito de San Martín de Porres carece de una relación de calidad con el Río Rímac, la infraestructura urbana en estado de deterioro y la contaminación del entorno natural representa una barrera entre el río y la ciudad, sumada a esta problemática, la cantidad y calidad del espacio público ofrecido es escaso, no existe un espacio o equipamiento que permita la manifestación cultural ni el desarrollo de actividades sociales. La necesidad de un espacio público relacionado al folklore en la zona de estudio se observa por la relativa proximidad al Centro Histórico de Lima, el interés de la población por la conservación y difusión de las tradiciones que se enfrenta al problema de la reducida oferta de espacios para práctica y aprendizaje del folklore. De esta manera, ante el problema de la negación del río y su entorno natural, además de la falta de espacios públicos de carácter cultural, se propone este equipamiento, ubicado estratégicamente en un espacio residual que requiere de una intervención urbana y paisajística para recuperar el vínculo de la ciudad con el río y generar un punto de cohesión social. |

The need for a public space related to folklore in the area is given by the relative proximity to the Historic Center of Lima, the interest of the population in the conservation of traditions that also faces the problem of the reduced offer of spaces to practice and learning about folklore.
