The experiment involved a motor pump delivering water to a container placed 6 meters above ground level, connected to a 2.5 m horizontal and a 5.5 m vertical pipe. An anti- vortex plate was installed to prevent air entry, and a manovacuumeter was used in the horizontal section to measure pressure. Tests were conducted using pipes of 2", 1½", 1¼", and 1" diameters, yielding experimental flow rates of 5.71 l/s, 3.63 l/s, 1.94 l/s, and 0.92 l/s, respectively. To minimize air presence, the container was filled to a reference level and the pump was stopped before measuring. Flow calculations were based on Bernoulli’s equation for energy conservation and the Darcy-Weisbach equation with the Colebrook-White formula for head loss, solved iteratively through a programmed routine. The theoretical flow rates obtained were 5.82 l/s, 3.44 l/s, 1.84 l/s, and 0.88 l/s, with relative errors of 1.91%, 5.25%, 5.20%, and 4.25%, confirming that air-free conditions yield optimal flow. Measured vacuum pressures were -0.40 bar for the first three diameters and -0.50 bar for the 1" pipe. Calculated pressures were -0.35, -0.42, -0.40, and -0.37 bar, with relative errors of 12.03%, 7.11%, 0.12%, and 25.94%, respectively.Submitted by Quispe Rabanal Flavio (flaviofime@hotmail.com) on 2026-03-17T21:20:28Z No. of bitstreams: 4 vasquez_pj.pdf: 5422327 bytes, checksum: 30258b5ffe8e175b2ec359678dfd2ac1 (MD5) vasquez_pj(acta).pdf: 156303 bytes, checksum: e218e3d7bc394aca5ab291cfb7a7572c (MD5) informe de similitud.pdf: 394074 bytes, checksum: 900afe4f34a09459780afd860b938322 (MD5) carta_de_autorización.pdf: 233972 bytes, checksum: b11150ed4369a4da1e8a3b2f4d78560b (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2026-03-17T21:20:28Z (GMT).
