Descripción
Sumario:This research develops a technological tool as part of a proposal for continuous improvement following Deming's cycle methodology to contribute to the proper management of Biocontaminated Hospital Solid Waste (BHSW) generated in a level IV hospital in the Arequipa region. The research followed the stages of: "Planning", where the diagnosis was made on the management and conditions of the process of handling BHSW, where the checklist used showed 71% of non-compliance with elements established in the technical health standard NTS 096-MINSA/DIGESA; "Do", where the tool was designed and implemented using the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet since it is widely used by workers who manage the HBW, but who are not familiar (70% of the personnel) with the HBW management process. This involved the development of a module with didactic and instructive information on the HBW management process; "Verify", which allows the collection and evaluation of data about the usefulness and ease of use of the tool in the work of the personnel, obtaining that 75% find the practical use of the tool in the development of their work. Finally, "Act" allows the identification of corrective actions and the planning of implementation of continuous improvements for future PHVA cycles
