description Este estudio de investigación tuvo como objetivo general, determinar la relación entre el funcionamiento familiar y el resentimiento en adolescentes infractores privados de su libertad de Lambayeque. Este estudio fue de tipo cuantitativo no experimental y de diseño descriptivo-correlacional transversal, pues los datos se obtuvieron en un solo momento de aplicación, haciendo uso de la Escala de Cohesión y Adaptabilidad Familiar (FACES-IV) y la Escala de Resentimiento. Se trabajó con una cantidad muestral constituida por 97 adolescentes varones, cuyas edades oscilaban entre 14 y 17 años (M= 17.3; DE= 2.83). Con este trabajo se encontró que existe relación negativa estadísticamente significativa entre las variables; además de relaciones directas e indirectas entre sus dimensiones. Se concluye que el funcionamiento familiar constituye un rol fundamental en el desarrollo del adolescente, además que la alteración o disfunción en este sistema coadyuva al desarrollo o experimentación de resentimiento recurrente, reforzado también por el encarcelamiento.
