Para la obtención del AE se realizó el método de extracción de arrastre de vapor, se pesaron muestras de 100 gr de fruto de molle con 7% y 13% de humedad que fueron trituradas de forma grosera y procesadas a 15, 30, 45 y 60 minutos de tiempo de extracción, obteniendo aceite esencial con rendimientos promedio de 3,68% para frutos con 7% de humedad y 2,44% para frutos con 13% de humedad. Para la evaluación inhibitoria del crecimiento de Colletotrichum spp. se evaluó concentraciones de 250, 500 y 750mg/mL de aceite esencial del fruto de molle diluido en agua destilada con Tween 20 al 1%. Se comprobó el efecto inhibitorio del aceite esencial del fruto de molle sobre Colletotrichum spp. a diferentes concentraciones, donde 250 y 500mg/mL de AE no tuvieron diferencia significativa en comparación a 750mg/mL cual presentó 37% de inhibición.
