Conclusiones: No existe asociación del peso al nacer con el tipo de huella plantar en infantes según edad y sexo. La huella plantar normal, es más evidente a partir de los 5 años.

Material and methods: Observatinal, retrospective and cross-sectional study of 400 medical record. We used Chi Square an Student's T tests, considering a p value < 0.05 to be significant. Results: 206 (51.5%) were girls and 194 (48.5%) were boys. There is no statistically significant relationship between birth weight and the type of plantar footprint. Conclusions: There is no association between birth weight and the type of plantar footprint of infants according to age and sex.
