El universo muestral estuvo constituido por 51 pacientes que cumplieron los criterios de inclusión, los instrumentos utilizados fueron: Escala de Ansiedad y un Cuestionario sobre la información que brinda la enfermera, llegando a las siguientes conclusiones: el 60% de pacientes presentaron una buena información, el 40% de pacientes presento una regular información. En cuanto al nivel de ansiedad se obtuvo que el 64% de los pacientes presentaron un nivel de ansiedad leve, el 22% un nivel de ansiedad moderada, el 13.3% un nivel de ansiedad grave. Así mismo se demostró que existe una relación altamente significativa entre la información y el nivel de ansiedad del paciente en etapa pre operatoria, el 88.9% un buen nivel de información y un nivel de ansiedad leve, el 11,1% un buen nivel de información y un nivel de ansiedad moderada aplicando la prueba estadística de independencia de criterios Chi cuadrado p=0.000.
