Se aplicó el cuestionario de Yoshitake para medir la fatiga laboral, clasificada en ausencia, moderada y severa, y se recogieron datos sociodemográficos y laborales mediante encuestas. Se evaluó la prevalencia de fatiga laboral en trabajadores que masticaban coca y en aquellos que no lo hacían, y se analizaron las diferencias con la prueba t de Student y el test de chi-cuadrado. Resultados: La prevalencia de fatiga laboral fue de 12,74%. Se encontraron diferencias significativas en la edad, siendo los trabajadores con fatiga laboral mayores en promedio (43,80 ± 11,21 años vs. 29,22 ± 7,70 años; p = 0.001), y en la experiencia laboral >10 años (60% en trabajadores con fatiga vs. 16,06% en aquellos sin fatiga; p = 0.001). No se encontró asociación significativa entre el masticado de coca y la fatiga laboral (p = 0.260). El puntaje promedio de fatiga fue significativamente mayor en los trabajadores con fatiga (9,65 ± 2,16 vs. 1,05 ± 1,64; p = 0.001). Conclusión: Aunque no se observó una asociación significativa entre el masticado de coca y la fatiga laboral, sí se identificaron otras variables, como la edad y la experiencia laboral, que se asociaron significativamente con la fatiga en los trabajadores mineros. |

Materials and Methods: An observational, analytical, prospective, and cross sectional study was conducted on a sample of 157 miners. The Yoshitake questionnaire was used to assess work fatigue, classified as absent, moderate, or severe, and sociodemographic and occupational data were collected through surveys. The prevalence of work fatigue in workers who chewed coca was compared to those who did not, using t-tests and chi-square tests. Results: The prevalence of work fatigue was 12.74%. Significant differences were found in age, with workers with fatigue being older on average (43.80 ± 11.21 years vs. 29.22 ± 7.70 years; p = 0.001), and in work experience >10 years (60% in workers with fatigue vs. 16.06% in those without fatigue; p = 0.001). There was no significant association between coca chewing and work fatigue (p = 0.260). The average fatigue score was significantly higher in workers with fatigue (9.65 ± 2.16 vs. 1.05 ± 1.64; p = 0.001).
