Se realizó el análisis de las variables diabetes gestacional, taquipnea transitoria del recién nacido y variables intervinientes. Se usó la prueba de Chi Cuadrado (X2 ) de independencia para variables cualitativas, con una diferencia estadística significativa menor al 5% (p<0,05). Así mismo, se calculó como medida de asociación, el odds ratio (OR) mediante regresión logística binaria. Resultados: Se halló en el análisis que, la proporción de madres con diabetes gestacional de neonatos con taquipnea transitoria fue de 35.8%; mientras que, el porcentaje de madres con diabetes gestacional de neonatos que no tuvieron taquipnea transitoria fue de 13.3%, OR: 2.832, IC 95% [1.48 – 5.40]. Se evidenció en el análisis que las variables con mayor significancia (p < 0.05) fueron el tipo de parto (p= 0.00) OR: 9.494, IC 95% [5.52 – 16.34], la edad gestacional (p= 0.022) OR: 2.17, IC 95% [1.12 – 4.21] y la obesidad materna (p= 0.023) OR: 5.74, IC 95% [1.27 – 25.92]. Conclusiones: Los neonatos de madres con diabetes gestacional tienen 2.8 veces más probabilidades de sufrir taquipnea transitoria que aquellos neonatos cuyas madres no presentaron diabetes gestacional, con lo cual se concluye que la diabetes gestacional es un factor de riesgo para taquipnea transitoria del recién nacido

The analysis of the variables gestational diabetes, transient tachypnea of the newborn and intervening variables were carried out. The Chi Square test (X2 ) of independence was used for qualitative variables, with a significant statistical difference of less than 5% (p<0.05). Besides, the odds ratio (OR) was calculated as a measure of association using binary logistic regression. Results: The analysis showed that the proportion of neonates with transient tachypnea from mothers with gestational diabetes was 35.8% while those without transient tachypnea were 13.3%. OR: 2.832 95% CI [1.48 – 5.40].
