Se contó con una población muestral de 100 adultos mayores, a quienes se aplicó dos cuestionarios que recogieron los datos de cada variable. Los resultados encontrados son los siguientes: de acuerdo al nivel de conocimiento de la medicina complementaria, se observó que el 73% de los adultos mayores tuvieron un conocimiento bueno, seguido de 19% conocimiento regular y un 8% conocimiento deficiente. En cuanto a la práctica de la medicina complementaria el 79% de adultos mayores realizan prácticas adecuadas y el 21% prácticas inadecuadas; concluyendo que existe relación estadísticamente significativa entre el conocimiento y práctica de la medicina alternativa en adultos mayores que acuden al centro de atención de medicina complementaria EsSalud Trujillo 2024, a través de la prueba Chi-cuadrado, se obtuvo un puntaje de <.001, lo cual indica que se rechaza la hipótesis nula y se acepta de hipótesis de investigación

EsSalud Trujillo Complementary Medicine Center, 2024, was a cross-sectional correlational descriptive study. There was a sample population of 100 older adults, to whom two questionnaires were applied that collected data on each variable. The results found are the following: according to the level of knowledge of complementary medicine, it was observed that 73% of older adults had good knowledge, followed by 19% regular knowledge and 8% poor knowledge. Regarding the practice of complementary medicine, 79% of older adults practice appropriate practices and 21% practice inappropriate practices; concluding that there is a statistically significant relationship between the knowledge and practice of alternative medicine in older adults who attend the complementary medicine care center EsSalud Trujillo 2024, through the Chi square test a score <.001 was obtained, which indicates that the hypothesis is null.
