Resultados: La frecuencia de lactancia materna exclusiva en los pacientes con y sin cáncer de mama fue de 44% y 64% respectivamente. El odss ratio de lactancia materna exclusiva en relación a cáncer de mama fue de 0.44 (p<0.05). Los promedios de lactancia materna en el grupo con y sin cáncer de mama fueron de 4.8 y 6.4 meses respectivamente (p<0.05). Conclusiones: La lactancia materna exclusiva es factor protector para cancer de mama en el Hospital Victor Lazarte Echegaray. El promedio de lactancia materna en meses de las mujeres con cancer de mama es signicativamente menor que el promedio de las mujeres sin cancer de mama.

Conclusions: Exclusive breastfeeding is a protective factor related to breast cancer at Victor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital.
