description La presente investigación describe y analiza los elementos que caracterizan el discurso narrativo del programa “Tiempo para Aprender“ del canal de televisión educativa USMPTV. Debido a que la producción televisiva nacional no documenta sus formatos en manuales o guías esta investigación además pretende dejar un aporte valorativo sobre la televisión educativa en el Perú, en función a su estructura audiovisual y temática. Para el análisis se tomaron en cuenta la totalidad de programas originales emitidos durante la temporada 2016 por USMPTV. La metodología contempló una hoja de registro de información para la recopilación y organización de características discursivas relacionadas al tratamiento visual, sonido y guion. En la indagación se determinó que el programa ‘Tiempo para aprender’ tiene un lenguaje apropiado para su público objetivo, lo cual le permite cumplir su función educativa con eficacia, con un formato ágil para contar información, escogiendo para su discurso aquellos aspectos narrativos que generan mayor empatía y dinamismo, guardando más similitudes con formatos elaborados para internet que para televisión. El análisis concluye con recomendaciones y consideraciones para perfilar más la propuesta del programa como también para futuras investigaciones en producción para televisión educativa.

Due to the fact that the national television production does not document its formats in manuals or guides, this research also intends to leave a valuable contribution on educational television in Peru, according to its audiovisual and thematic structure. For the analysis, all original programs issued during the 2016 season by USMPTV were taken into account. The methodology included an information record sheet for the collection and organization of discursive characteristics related to visual treatment, sound and script. In the investigation it was determined that the program 'Time to learn' has an appropriate language for its target audience, which allows it to fulfill its educational function effectively, with an agile format to tell information, choosing for its speech those narrative aspects that generate greater empathy and dynamism, keeping more similarities with formats developed for the internet than for television.
