La evaluación del dolor postoperatorio se realizó mediante la escala EVA del dolor a las 6, 12, 24, 48 y 72 horas.Ambos grupos recibieron tratamientos de endodoncia en una sola visita. La prueba T deStudent fue utilizada para comparar los promedios del dolor postoperatorio en los diversos tiempos, con una significancia al 5% (p < 0.05). Resultados: Al comparar las medias de ambos sistemas evaluados se encontraron diferencias significativas (p = 0.0001) entre los puntajes de dolor postoperatorio a las 6, 12, 24 y 48 horas. Sin embargo, no se encontró diferencia estadística significativa entre ambos sistemas a las 72 horas (p =0.104). Methods: An experimental and longitudinal study was carried out in 50 male patients with a diagnosis of pulp necrosis in lower molars and indication for endodontic treatment. The patients were randomly assigned to the rotary system (25) and reciprocating system (25). Postoperative pain was assessed using the VAS pain scale at 6, 12, 24, 48 and 72 hours. Both groups received endodontic treatments in a single visit. Student's t-test was used to compare the averages of postoperative pain at the different times, with significance at 5% (p < 0.05). Results: When comparing the means of both systems evaluated, significant differences (p < 0.05) were found between the postoperative pain scores at 6, 12, 24 and 48 hours.
