Se empleó el estadístico no paramétrico Chi cuadrado de Spearman. Resultados: Se encontró que el 76% tiene función normal aun en ausencia de molares y el 9 % presento trastorno temporomandibular leve, El 6% tiene trastorno temporomandibular moderado y severo grado I. El 2% tiene trastorno temporomandibular severo grado II y III el 2% tiene función siendo el valor de p<0.05. Conclusión: No existe relación directa entre la ausencia de molares y la disfunción temporomandibular

Methodology: It was an analytical observational study, in which a clinical examination was performed on 115 patients between the ages of 15-75 years who attended the Castilla CESAMICA-Piura Health Center. An instrument (data collection form) was used to record the clinical findings of absence of molars and temporomandibular dysfunction with the Helkimo Index. The non-parametric Spearman's Chi square statistic was used. Results: It was found that 76% have normal function even in the absence of molars and 9% presented mild temporomandibular disorder. 6% had moderate and severe grade I temporomandibular disorder. 2% have severe grade II and III temporomandibular disorder, 2% have function, with the value of p<0.05.
