description Objetivo: Determinar si la relación ácido úrico / creatinina (AU/Cr) es un factor predictor de discapacidad temprana en pacientes con enfermedad cerebrovascular (ECV) en pacientes adultos atendidos en el servicio de neurología del Hospital Víctor Lazarte Echegaray. Material y métodos: Se diseñó un estudio observacional, analítico, cohorte prospectiva, en 120 pacientes adultos escogidos mediante un método de muestreo por conveniencia. La unidad de muestreo fueron las historias clínicas, mediante una ficha de recolección de datos. Se hizo una base de datos, donde la estadística descriptiva se procesó con el software estadístico SPSS V 29 y para la estadística analítica se usó regresión logística, x2 para variables cualitativas, y T student para las variables cuantitativas. Resultados: La incidencia de discapacidad temprana con ECV con relación AU/Cr >4.76 fue del 50% (48 pacientes). Los pacientes con relación AU/Cr > 4.76 presentaron 1.9 veces más riesgo de discapacidad temprana en comparación con los pacientes con relación ≤ 4.76. (RRa: 1.939; IC 95%: 1.08-3.45; p:0.024) Conclusión: La relación AU/Cr es un factor predictor de discapacidad temprana en pacientes con ECV

Methods: An observational, analytical, prospective cohort study was designed in 120 adult patients chosen by means of a convenience sampling method. The sampling unit was the medical records, by means of a data collection form. A database was made, where descriptive statistics were processed with SPSS V 29 statistical software and logistic regression, x2 for qualitative variables, and T student for quantitative variables were used for analytical statistics. Results: The incidence of early disability with CVD with UA/Cr ratio >4.76 was 50% (48 patients). Patients with UA/Cr ratio > 4.76 had 1.9 times higher risk of early disability compared to patients with ratio ≤ 4.76. (RRa: 1.939; 95% CI: 1.08- 3.45; p:0.024).
