RESULTADOS: Se analizaron 128 pacientes con lesión renal aguda y sepsis en el Hospital III-1 JCH. La mayoría de los pacientes fueron adultos mayores, con una distribución equilibrada entre sexos. De los pacientes, el 61.7% sobrevivió y el 38.3% falleció. Un índice neutrófilo-linfocito-plaquetario alto se asoció significativamente con una mayor mortalidad (59.38%) en comparación con un índice normal (17.19%). Además, factores como la edad avanzada, la hipertensión arterial y las hospitalizaciones previas mostraron asociaciones significativas con el índice elevado. Sin embargo, no se encontraron diferencias significativas en relación con el sexo o la diabetes mellitus tipo II. Conclusión: El índice neutrófilo y linfocitos/plaquetas se asocia a mayor mortalidad en pacientes con lesión a renal aguda con sepsis en el Hospital III-1 José Cayetano Heredia Piura 2021 -2023

MATERIAL AND METHOD: An observational, descriptive, retrospective cohort study with a population-based sample of patients hospitalized at Hospital III-1 JCH Piura during the period 2021–2023, with a sample size of 128 patients. The analysis was conducted using bivariate analysis, testing the hypothesis through Chi-square or Fisher’s exact tests, considering the assumptions of these tests. A p-value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant, and statistical analyses were performed using SPSS V. 25. RESULTS: A total of 128 patients with acute kidney injury and sepsis were analyzed at the Hospital III-1 JCH. Most patients were elderly, with a balanced distribution between sexes. Of the patients, 61.7% survived and 38.3% died. A high neutrophil- lymphocyte-platelet index was significantly associated with higher mortality (59.38%) compared to a normal index (17.19%). Additionally, factors such as advanced age, hypertension, and previous hospitalizations showed significant associations with the elevated index. However, no significant differences were found regarding sex or type II diabetes mellitus.
