El enfoque de la investigación es cuantitativo, de tipo aplicada y de nivel descriptivo, con un diseño no experimental y de corte transversal, la muestra es fue de los paños de losa aligerada comprendidos entre el 2do piso al 4to piso de una vivienda unifamiliar de 4 pisos de la Urbanización “El Prisma&Quot”, Trujillo, La Libertad. Se analizó el tiempo que se emplea en cada cuadrilla para el encofrado metálico de la losa aligerada, tanto como el costo para la partida. Asimismo, se realizó el mismo análisis y proceso para el encofrado convencional. El procesamiento de datos se hizo a través del programa Excel, para finalizar con la organización de los datos en tablas y cuadros estadísticos y comparativos. Se concluyó que el encofrado metálico presenta una mejor calidad tanto en número de usos que son 150, como en el impacto ambiental, impidiendo la tala de árboles y la calidad de superficie, siendo esta más lisa.
