El tipo de investigación fue sustantiva a nivel descriptivo, la población fue de 576 estudiantes de 5° grado de instituciones de primaria y la muestra de 117 unidades de muestra, el diseño de investigación fue descriptivo-correlacional, se aplicaron los instrumentos Test Hábitos de lectura y Test de estrategias didácticas, la calificación y tabulación de los datos se realizó en la Hoja de Cálculo Excel, y los análisis de los datos por medio del programa estadístico SPSS versión 23.0 en español. En los resultados de estrategias didácticas, el mayor conglomerado es regular (71.80%) y el (28.8%) es bueno. En la variable hábitos de lectura, el mayor es en el nivel regular (67.5%) y en el nivel bueno. (32.5%). El p valor es menor a 0.05 (<.001), se rechaza la hipótesis nula y se acepta la alterna. Coeficiente de correlación (Rh= 0.765). Conclusión, existe una correlación significativa, entre las variables.

The type of research was substantive at a descriptive level, the population was 576 5th grade students from primary institutions and the sample was 117 sample units, the research design was descriptive-correlational, the Reading Habits Test instruments were applied and Test of teaching strategies, the qualification and tabulation of the data was carried out in the Excel Spreadsheet, and the data analysis was carried out using the statistical program SPSS version 23.0 in Spanish. In the results of teaching strategies, the largest cluster is regular (71.80%) and (28.8%) is good. In the reading habits variable, the highest is at the regular level (67.5%) and at the good level.
