De forma independiente y por duplicado, se seleccionó, se extrajo información y se evaluó el riesgo de sesgo de los ensayos clínicos. El desenlace primario fue la reducción de días mensuales de migraña (DMM). Como desenlaces secundarios se evaluaron las incidencias de respuesta de migraña con reducción al 50% y 75%, además de la seguridad del tratamiento. Se utilizaron medidas de riesgo relativo (RR), para desenlaces dicotómicos y diferencia de medias (DM) para desenlaces continuos. Resultados: Se incluyeron 2739 participantes de 4 ECAS, en donde el 14,31% de los participantes eran hombres y la edad media osciló entre 36,4 y 41 años. La administración con eptinezumab (100 mg y 300 mg) redujo significativamente el número de DMM en comparación con el placebo. Al evaluar la seguridad, no identificamos diferencias estadísticamente significativas en cuanto a los eventos adversos emergentes del tratamiento entre eptinezumab y el placebo. Conclusión: El tratamiento con eptinezumab, en especial a 300mg, es eficaz y seguro en la prevención de migraña hasta la semana 12.

Materials and methods: A systematic review and metaanalysis was carried out, where a search strategy was developed in five databases and randomized clinical trials (RCTs) that compared the efficacy and safety of eptinezumab in the prevention of migraine in adults were included. Clinical trials were independently and in duplicate selected, information extracted, and risk of bias assessed. The primary outcome was the reduction in monthly migraine days (MMD). As secondary outcomes, the incidences of migraine response with a reduction to 50% and 75% were evaluated, in addition to the safety of the treatment. Relative risk (RR) measures were used for dichotomous outcomes and mean difference (MD) for continuous outcomes. Results: We included 2,739 participants from 4 RCTs, where 14.31% of the participants were men and the mean age ranged from 36.4 to 41 years. Administration with eptinezumab (100 mg and 300 mg) significantly reduced the number of DMM compared to placebo. In assessing safety, we did not identify statistically significant differences in treatment-emergent adverse events between eptinezumab and placebo.
