description La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y las prácticas preventivas en cáncer de piel en agremiados del sindicato de pescadores José Olaya Balandra, Chimbote – 2024. Se adoptó un enfoque cuantitativo, con orientación aplicada y nivel correlacional, enmarcado en un diseño no experimental transeccional correlacional. La población estuvo conformada por 1600 agremiados y la muestra se conformó por 260 participantes, determinados por muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia; se ejecutó la técnica de la encuesta y el cuestionario como instrumento, los cuales cumplieron con los requisitos de validez y confiabilidad. Los resultados evidenciaron un nivel regular en cuanto al conocimiento sobre el cáncer de piel representado por un 65.77%, seguido por un 32.69% con nivel bueno; y solo un 1.54% con nivel deficiente. Respecto a las practicas preventivas, estas se concentran en el nivel regular con un 74.62%, seguido por un 16.92% con nivel bueno y 8.46% con nivel deficiente. Se concluye con la existencia relevante y significativa de una relación entre los niveles de conocimientos y las practicas preventivas frente al cáncer de piel entre los agremiados pesqueros evaluados, de acuerdo con la prueba Chi-cuadrado (X² = 24.236, p < 0.05).

A quantitative approach was adopted, with an applied orientation and a correlational level, framed in a non-experimental correlational cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 1,600 members and the sample was made up of 260 participants, determined by non-probabilistic convenience sampling; the survey technique and the questionnaire were executed as an instrument, which met the requirements of validity and reliability. The results showed a regular level in terms of knowledge about skin cancer represented by 65.77%, followed by 32.69% with a good level; and only 1.54% with a poor level. Regarding preventive practices, these are concentrated at a regular level with 74.62%, followed by 16.92% with a good level and 8.46% with a poor level.
