description El presente trabajo de investigación tuvo por objetivo determinar la relación que existe entre el nivel de autoestima y nivel de depresión en los pacientes oncológicos sometidos a quimioterapia ambulatoria, en Instituto Regional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas, Trujillo 2022, se utilizó una metodología de carácter no experimental, aplicada y de tipo correlacional en una muestra conformada por 136 pacientes con diagnóstico de cáncer que reciben tratamiento en quimioterapia ambulatoria. Para medir la variable nivel de autoestima, se utilizó el cuestionario evaluación de autoestima en pacientes oncológicos de Coopersmith.Los resultados, muestran que el 51.5% de pacientes presentan autoestima media, mientras que el 31.7% autoestima baja y el 16.8% autoestima alta. Así también, para la variable nivel de depresión, se contó con el instrumento Test de depresión de Hamilton. Los resultados, muestran que el 74% de pacientes posee un estado de depresión muy severo y severo, mientras que el 26% restante, moderado ha no deprimido; además, el 74% de pacientes con una autoestima bajo a medio presentan depresión severa y muy severa por lo que se indica que los niveles de depresión y los niveles de autoestima se relacionan de manera significativa, por medio del coeficiente Chi-cuadrado de asociación (X2=121,962), confirmando la hipótesis del investigador

To measure the level of self-esteem variable, the Coopersmith self-esteem evaluation questionnaire in cancer patients was used. The results show that 51.5% of patients have medium self-esteem, while 31.7% have low self-esteem and 16.8% have high self-esteem. Also, for the depression level variable, the Hamilton Depression Test instrument was used.
