MATERIAL Y MÉTODO: Estudio observacional, analítico-transversal, con recolección de datos secundarios mediante ficha de recolección de datos para estudio de tipo censal, para todos aquellos pacientes que cuentan con previo diagnóstico de VIH positivo en cualquiera de sus etapas y fueran co-infectados con SARS CoV-2, que fueron atendidos en hospitales de Piura durante en el año 2020. RESULTADOS: El mayor grupo etario estuvieron entre 18 a 30 años; con una media de 26.56 años en el grupo VIH complicado, en cuanto al grupo de VIH más COVID-19; dentro desde mismo rango etario fue de 25.1 años, en 113 (29.43%) y 152 (39.58%) para las condiciones de VIH Complicado y VIH + COVID-19; del mismo modo se detectaron 85 defunciones en el periodo evaluado en pacientes VIH+COVID19 versus los 5 registros solo para VIH Complicado. Se encontró asociación entre la presencia de complicaciones y pacientes con VIH + COVID-19 (p:0.04 – 2.67, IC: 1.98-2.67), CONCLUSIÓN: Se encontró asociación entre la presencia de complicaciones y pacientes con VIH + COVID-19

MATERIAL AND METHOD: Observational, analytical-cross-sectional study, with collection of secondary data through data collection form for study type census, for all those patients who have a previous diagnosis of HIV positive in any of its stages and were co-infected with SARS CoV-2, who were treated in hospitals in Piura during the year 2020. RESULTS: The largest age group was between 18 and 30 years old; with an average of 26.56 years in the complicated HIV group, as for the HIV plus COVID-19 group; within the same age range it was 25.1 years, in 113 (29.43%) and 152 (39.58%) for the Complicated HIV and HIV + COVID-19 conditions; Likewise, 85 deaths were detected in the evaluated period in HIV+COVID19 patients versus the 5 registries only for Complicated HIV. An association was found between the presence of complications and patients with HIV + COVID- 19 (p:0.04 – 2.67, CI: 1.98-2.67).
