description Determinar la correlación entre los índices antropométricos y procrastinación en estudiantes de medicina humana de tres universidades de Piura. Se evaluaron variables antropométricas como peso, talla, IMC, circunferencia de cintura y circunferencia de cadera. Para medir la procrastinación se empleó “Academic Procrastination Scale Short Form” (APS-S). Resultados: Se encontró una correlación negativa significativa entre la talla y procrastinación. El IMC y la Circunferencia de Cintura mostró una asociación significativa después de ajustar por las variables de control. Así mismo, se obtuvo una asociación significativa entre el puntaje obtenido en APS-S, el género y haber reprobado un ciclo anterior. Conclusiones: Se observó que la talla, el IMC, la circunferencia de cintura, el sexo, así como reprobar un ciclo anterior se encuentran correlacionados con la procrastinación académica en estudiantes de medicina.

Material and methods: Observational, analytical, cross-sectional study, in which surveys were conducted with 380 medical students from three universities in Piura: Universidad Nacional de Piura (UNP), Universidad Cesar Vallejo (UCV) and Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego (UPAO). Anthropometric variables such as weight, height, BMI, waist circumference and hip circumference were evaluated. To measure procrastination, the “Academic Procrastination Scale Short Form” (APS-S) was used. Results: A significant negative evaluation was found between size and procrastination. BMI and Waist Circumference showed a significant association after adjusting for control variables. Likewise, a significant association was obtained between the score obtained in APS-S, gender and having failed a previous cycle.
