Mediante el modelo de regresión logística, estudiamos las historias clínicas de 184 neonatos con enterocolitis necrotizante hospitalizados en el Hospital Víctor Lazarte Echegaray de Trujillo. RESULTADOS: Se encontró sexo masculino 52.17 %; sexo femenino 47.83%; prematuros de 24 a 29 semanas 36.96%; nacidos por cesárea 79.89%; nacidos por parto vaginal 20.11%; RCIU 55.98%; la mediana del PCR fue 10.46 mg/L y la mediana de los leucocitos totales fueron 15.31 mil/μL. Apgar menor a 7 puntos 39.67%; uso de corticoides 33.70%; transfusión de hemoderivados 76.09%; uso de citrato de cafeína 63.04%; intervención quirúrgica por necrosis 14.13%; preeclampsia materna 45.11%, muy bajo peso al nacer 23.37% y extremado bajo peso al nacer 23.91%. Los prematuros que fallecieron por enterocolitis necrotizante fueron el 14.67%. CONCLUSIONES: Se concluye que los factores de riesgo asociados a la mortalidad por enterocolitis necrotizante fueron transfusión de hemoderivados, intervención quirúrgica por necrosis, extremadamente bajo peso, PCR >10.1mg/dl

A retrospective cohort study. Using the logistic regression model, we studied the medical records of 184 newborns with necrotizing enterocolitis hospitalized at the Víctor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital in Trujillo. RESULTS: The incidence of neonates with necrotizing enterocolitis was 52.17%; females 47.83%; premature births from 24 to 29 weeks 36.96%; cesarean delivery 79.89%; vaginal delivery 20.11%; and IUGR 55.98%. The median CRP was 10.46 mg/L and the median total leukocyte count was 15.31 thousand/μL. Apgar score less than 7 points was 39.67%; corticosteroid use 33.70%; blood product transfusion 76.09%; caffeine citrate use 63.04%; surgical intervention for necrosis 14.13%; maternal preeclampsia 45.11%; very low birth weight 23.37%; and extremely low birth weight 23.91%. Premature infants who died from necrotizing enterocolitis 14.67%.
