El diseño de la investigación fue de tipo descriptivo, cuantitativo y de nivel correlacional. Se usó como técnica la encuesta y como instrumento los cuestionarios denominados: “Autocuidado del acceso vascular” y “nivel de conocimiento en el paciente hemodializado”. Como resultado, se encontró una significativa correlación entre las dos variables, demostrado con un grado de significancia de P<0,005
