Los resultados mostraron que el 64% de los pacientes posee un alto nivel de conocimiento sobre la hipertensión, mientras que el 89% presentaba una adherencia media al tratamiento. Entre las características demográficas, el 44% de los participantes tenían entre 56 y 65 años, el 52% eran mujeres, el 46% había sido diagnosticado entre 5 y 10 años atrás, y el 52% tenían estudios primarios. Para la correlación de variables se empleó la prueba de Rho de Spearman la cual revelo una relación débil, entre el conocimiento y la adherencia al tratamiento (r = -0.007). A partir de estos hallazgos se afirma que no se cuenta con la evidencia estadística suficiente para aceptar la relación entre variables por lo que se elige la hipótesis nula. Concluyendo que la adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico de la hipertensión no solo depende del nivel de conocimiento, sino que además existirían otros factores que intervienen

The sample was 84 patients. Two surveys were used: Knowledge about high blood pressure and adherence to pharmacological treatment. The results showed that 64% of the patients had a high level of knowledge about hypertension, while 89% had a medium adherence to treatment. Among the demographic characteristics, 44% of the participants were between 56 and 65 years old, 52% were women, 46% had been diagnosed between 5 and 10 years ago, and 52% had primary education. For the correlation of variables, Spearman's Rho test was used, revealing a weak relationship between knowledge and adherence to treatment (r = -0.007). Based on these findings, it is stated that there is not enough statistical evidence to accept the relationship between variables, which is why the null hypothesis is chosen.
