Resultados: No se apreciaron diferencias significativas para las variables edad, género o tiempo de enfermedad entre los pacientes con o sin lesión de manguito rotador; la sensibilidad, especificidad, valor predictivo positivo y valor predictivo negativo de la Ultrasonografía en el diagnóstico de lesión de manguito rotador fue de 87%; 83%; 97% y 50% respectivamente; la sensibilidad, especificidad, valor predictivo positivo y valor predictivo negativo de la Resonancia magnética en el diagnóstico de lesión de manguito rotador fue de 93%; 94%; 99% y 70% respectivamente; la distribución de los pacientes con lesión del manguito rotador según localización fue: supraespinoso (58%); infraespinoso (24%); bíceps (12%) y subescapular (6%); la ultrasonografía y la resonancia magnética tienen efectividad en el diagnóstico de lesión de manguito rotador. Conclusión: La ultrasonografía y la resonancia magnética tienen efectividad diagnóstico de lesión del manguito rotador
